I have Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and Inkbunny if it counts.
The order I check my webpages in, though, is this:

-Escapist
-Inkbunny
-Youtube (cos i get notifs all the time)
-Tumblr
-Facebook
-Twitter

And the further down they are, the less inclined I am to check them.

I know that email accounts can get hacked, but I honestly don't trust Facebook. Having read the articles about the privacy issues and sites like youreanopenfacebook.com, plus the fact that the guy who created it seemed like a real jerkwad, I'm just not that impressed. Besides, people with Facebook accounts (at least many that I've known) get this glorified sense of importance. (Let ME tell you what I'M doing, ME ME ME ME....). I think it's overrated, and call me stubborn, but I just don't want one. I've made a Facebook account for work (it was for the teens that come to the library) and I didn't get the response that I thought, so I eventually got rid of it.
As for texting, I used to text a bit, but I need to save money, so got rid of the function. Plus, that whole cell phone link to cancer..yeah.. I try to keep my brain away from my cell phone when I can (ok, so texting is not putting it up to my head, but shut up, I'm paranoid). That and I ABSOLUTELY ABHOR PEOPLE WHO DRIVE WITH THEIR CELL PHONES!!!! Whether they are texting or just talking, they don't pay attention, drive too fast or too damn slow, weave, and just look like twats with a superiority complex.
So, yeah. I'm old school. I'll send mass emails.

I refuse to do any online social networking if only to continue to drive my friends and girlfriend crazy.
Ha! Yeah, it drives my friends nuts too. It's fun to be the odd ball out.

its 50/50 email/texting. Although the ~4 people I actually communicate with is probably not a statistically viable sample.

Of the choices available, cellphone, but mostly I use Ventrilo to talk to people I know if it's nothing specific. If I need something from someone I'll text or call.

yeah im terribly sorry i kind of find it offensive that people use cancer so lightheartedly. You know the long and painful death many people suffer every year. But no its fine to use it for an off collar remark :/
The context in which he used it is proper, correct, and not as off color as you made it out to be. According to Dictionary.com, the second definition of the word Cancer is

2.any evil condition or thing that spreads destructively; blight.

So the poster was not using the term disrespectfully. They were not referring to cancer as a medical condition.

Social networking is a cancer on the internet.
Care to tell us how?

I use Facebook, it's useful as hell when organising events/ parties with friends, and rovides you with the ability to see all the hilarious/ awful photos taken on nights out so you can remember what happened.

Other than that, I dont really use it much, but for its usfulness in organising things and getting people to do stuff I think it's pretty cool. I post the occasional status, but only when I think I've got something worth saying.

If I want to actually contact people quickly I call or text them, it's a bit more instant than FB, whose chat function is a pile of wank.

I would much rather be on here than Facebook. My friend set up a Facebook account for me, and then scolds me for not checking it, when the fact of the matter is that I never wanted Facebook, I was perfectly happy without it. When I want to communicate with my friends I will call/text them and they can call/text me. Simple. However, if you want to organize a big event, it would be better to do it via Facebook.

Facebook for me, it's where most of my online interactions take place. I mean, I text on my mobile a lot, but I also use my mobile to check facebook. So it wins.
Yeah.. This ^^^^^^^^^^

Agreed. Of course now I'm a hippocrit because I'm not talking to you IRL. Oh well.
(BTW that was a joke. I DO agree with you. Actually, thats another problem with these IM things. Its pretty easy to misunderstand someone.)
i totally hear you on this; you just cannot transfer the tone of your voice into written text; sure, you can write sth. like irony, joking,... behind/before what you wrote, but it just doesn't cut it ^^

Facebook, easy to use, have it on my phone so it's just as easy as texting or letting more than one person at once know something.
Plus, everyone is on FB.
