1080p here. 37" LCD. It's beautiful. I occasionally hook my PC up to it, and play it on that screen. No more cramped screen for me while playing a busy game!

42" Edge lit LED LCD (16:9) for the newer console in the front half of the living room - both the 360, PS3 & PC are set to 1080P (font scaling on the PC to make it readable from the couch) and the Wii set at it's highest (I forget how low that is).

44" CRT (4:3) for the classic consoles in the rear of the living room - I'm in the UK so it's PAL resolution of around 480i (once the Kell factor is taken into account).

As I heard 1080P is only really distinguishable from 720P at screens 42" and above I did try the games systems at 720P to save on processing the extra resolution but it made no difference to performance and although it's probably psychosomatic I didn't think the image was as good so put them back to full.

Now on my old 32" CFL backlit LCD (16:9) I did used to use 720P as it was only capable of 1080i and I wanted the extra frames per second as I found that made a difference.

You do know that SD TV is being fazed out and soon you won't be able to actually use your TV as a TV right?

A 52" LED Sony Bravia for me. Games like a charm.
Hadn't a clue. Then again, I pretty much never actually watch TV anyways. I use my computer for watching movies/videos on the internet.
That's not technically accurate - in the UK they're switching the terrestrial analogue broadcast over to a digital signal - they'll still be plenty of SD channels transmitted but your SD TV will no longer be able to understand the transmission and you'll need a 'freeview' style set-top box to decode them.

You and me both, mate. We have to stick together, you can't mention having an SDTV on the internet without everyone and their mother demanding you go out right now and buy an HDTV.

I have a 90-something inch 1080p projector screen, which I don't use because it has the family Xbox on it and therefore no Live, so none of my own save games. I normally just use that for splitscreen when I have friends over.

Normally, I use a 32" Bush 720p HDTV in my room, which also runs my computer screen. It's pretty damn awesome.

Mine says it's HD but I have no idea. Probably 1080, since it was new last month. I've got an AV cable for my Megadrive so that it still works.

To be honest I can't really tell. It looks nice enough for me and it works properly so that's enough for me.

Sd TV from a company I'm fairly sure doesn't exist any more (Amstrad). When I get a job I'll save up and get a bigass hd tv

19", 720p.
I wouldn't have enough space for a bigger TV, nor the budget for a higher resolution. My room is so tiny I'm sitting about two feet from my TV, so my current TV is perfect... for now.

I have a 51" HD TV upstairs in the lounge room, a 37" downstairs in the living room and a 27" in my parents room, which I occasionally use as my PC monitor.

I play it on 1080p I am glad I upgraded and got the HDTV 2 years ago. It was physically impossible to read the word revenge when playing SF4 on my 15" television but now you can read from the other side of my room(not a challenge or a large distance). Although I don't use my TV for gaming much anymore as nothing has come out on the 360 that I have been willing to buy but that will change when some games come down in price a bit.

Seriously now, HD? What are you guys still slumming around with that wishy washy rubbish for?
Admittedly, Xbox 360s look rubbish on it, the screen does a valiant job of scaling the image, but it can't hide how ropey 720p starts to look at high res.

Three cheers for dual DVi!

Ahhh, I remember the days when my 15" SD-VHS combi telly was stylish. I was the talk of the town I was. With my TV that didn't need a separate VHS unit.
Yep, those were the days! Used to have one of those in every bedroom :D The living room didn't but it was a bigger CRT and the VHS was separate; that had video recording capabilities!

I used to be in that situation, then I got a HDTV for Christmas. Nothing wrong with a good ol' SDTV.
OP: 720, I think. I don't know.

Got a 24" LED TV from Bush at 1080p. The picture quality's amazing but the sound quality's a bit meh, so I got some 10W PC speakers for £20 and now it sounds great :D

To be fair, if you can't afford to upgrade, and have the common sense not to saddle yourself with hundreds in debt just to have a 'new' thing, you can now pick up huge old TVs, nice, good quality ones for zero money on places like Freecycle.

If you put away a bit every month, you'll find there's 22" screens going around £100, and 32" for £180. I heartily recommend people don't rush if they haven't upgraded however, it's hard to go back, but until you upgrade you really proabably won't mind staying in SD.

Unless you're playing certain games that insist on putting text on the screen about 3 pixels high. Then you're fucked. (Dead Rising was criminal for that!)

I've only got a flat screen myself because my best friend came into some money and, out of the blue, just decided to buy me one, else I'd still be on my ten year old 21" fat telly, and I'd be quite content, tho I'm VERY appreciative of the new one! (space if nothing else, monitor, TV and console display in one!)

I use a 22-inch non-widescreen TV I don't know the resolution, but it's probably at least 20years old so I bet it isn't high. Might be getting it replaced soon though, because white has started showing up as light blue at one end and greeny/yellow at the other.
