When i was younger, Raj enjoy combat.
Would run headfirst at things, greatsword flailing, yelling about how fat their mother was.

Half the time, Raj was nude too! Not by choice. Hard to get dressed in morning when dragon breathing fire into window.

But Raj nude is for best. He knows, women dig love-handles! Tell me, "Oh Raj! Your belly is so soft! Want nothing more then rub it!"
Raj knows what ladies want. Ladies want Raj. Cannot help it.

How Raj met Wife Mjoll!

..... Ok, have some regrets when comes to drunken nudity in public.
Goddamnit, you totally need to write a blog or something about Raj. I love seeing one of his adventures turn up in a thread. ^_^

This playthrough it's been pretty much nothing but Wuuthrad and Volendrung for my two handed Orc warrior. Combined with Berserker Rage, I can kill a normal dragon in about a good three hits with them.

I personally like axes since they have a decent balance between speed and damage. Also, I always feel like some sort of viking when I use them, so that's a plus.

I was hoping swords wouldn't be the most popular, guess that's why they always making the most mythical weapon a sword. And bows are usually over-powered.

I prefer the warhammer because smacking and stunning everything is so much more satisfying. Unfortunately, the finishing moves are all mostly made for the sword, they could've at least made seperate animations for the axe and hammer.

I tend to use a sword on my rigth hand, for quick attacks , combined with a mace in my left hand, for more powerfull attacks.

I've gotten an animation with an axe that would look silly using a sword (it'd look like they were punching them in the sternum with the hilt), so I think they might? I unno. I'm usually too "Oooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!" to really dissect it in detail.

I use the greatsword just because i like to cleave through multiple enemies at once. you know that quest with the redguard looking for the redguard woman? i went to kill them and got them into a bottle neck, three swings of my sword and it was done from 7 on 1 to 1 on 1.

I haven't used any axes yet, guess I'll have to check it out. The warhammer is literally slicing into animals jaws and stabbed right into the dragons nose, it doesn't look good.

As stated, this is an inquiry for those adventurers in Skyrim that prefer the use of visceral melee/weapon-based combat.

Which MELEE (which means close, individual combat) weapon type is your favorite, and why?

See, I started off with bows and magic, but now that I'm sufficiently experienced with those, I'm going to start improving my melee weapon skills and wanted some advice on which to chose. I'm thinking of dual axes for maximum viking powah, but I'm also partial to maces.

I'm also intrigued as to the ratio of said weapon types to players, so I'll try and include a poll. (Apologies if it gets eaten, of course.)
.
I usually walk around with a conjured sword (that catches souls) and an enchanted axe. The axe is different, depending on the occasion - Health siphon& Stamina siphon (for tough fights) or just pure damage.

Nightingale Blade and a healing spell. Or a fireball. Always one spell and one sword, unless I want to play around with my scrolls. Sure was glad I held onto those two Scrolls of Mass Paralysis when the giants and their freaking mammoth herds attacked.

Swords all the way, faster than all other weapons and with decent damage.
That said, my character carries three swords, one shield, one bow and one staff at all times.
What about armour? Doesn't that get combersome? Steed stone?

OT: Axes, because of the more consistant "Bleed Damage" perk. As opposed to the sword's "Critical Chance" perk.
Full Orcish armour (flawless). And yes, it is combersome. I use the warriors stone.

Sword is the best, high speed and chance for crit.
However i use Axe and only for the sake of being different, it suits my character more and hell this is a Bethesda game.. the whole point is that you can play however you want.

I usually use a sword and flame/lightening combo. Although I recently found a mace of malrog bal (something like that :s) from a quest about a dog. The mace is a beast and eats people's souls. Plus it looks awesome in first person.

Swords. And i actually prefer the bound variety lol. ( Conjuration spell )

It does good damage , automatically casts soul trap , instantly banishes summoned daedra and turns zombies back onto their masters. Oh and, it kills people. And it looks cool.

Pity there wasn't a bound mace. The bound axe was a serious eyesore and practically obscured the whole right of your screen.

I usually use swords, but irl an in Skyrim I go for daggers.

In Skyrim they give a 15X Sneak Attack damage multiplier with the right perk.
In real life, they are easier to conceal than other weapons (besides fists and maybe gauntlets). And they don't require much skill to use compared to other weapons.
