So I've recently been playing through SW:FU and have mixed feelings about the whole deal. I mean, I read all the reviews that were luke warm on the game....and I have to say that I feel the same (more luke on it though than warm).

While the game introduces some things that are really innovative and fun (powerful force powers and new interesting characters) it also does some things that really irk me (annoying quicktime events and floaty walking motions...along with disappearing enemies ---- thanks for ruining the immersion!). At the same time though the linear level design and (usually) straight forward level design is a breath of fresh air after playing Fallout 3 and Oblivion (don't get me wrong they're great games).

So....Is the Force Unleashed a good game in the Star Wars universe, or another Lucas dud?

I wanted it to have full lightsaber control on the wii, it didn't deliver :'( apart from that I don't have much to say really, after that I gave up on it.

Honestly, I had a lot of fun playing it, but it has little to no replay value aside from playing harder difficulties, but that meant that I only played two times because I started on Sith Lord and played through again on Sith Master.

I can't say I didn't enjoy it, it was quite fun, but there is no running away from the fact that the game has some serious issues.

Please separate your posts into paragraphs. Block/Wall of text is hard for people to read through. I was going to mention this in another of your threads, but a butterfly caught my attention.

SW:FU had many problems: gameplay pacing, plot pacing, hype, level design, QTEs. However the visual design was (mostly) interesting and playing an overpowered character (on the second play through really) was a novel experience.

At first I did not want to buy The Force Unleashed, especially after playing the demo for Xbox 360. However, a few weeks after its release I ended up buying it, and in my opinion it was a really good game. I know people harp on the fact that there is no real precision to the force powers, but I don't think you are supposed to play with that kind of mentality. Once I started throwing people around at random, and generally destroying anything in my path, it was a lot of fun. Also, you have to admit that it has an awesome story, which really sealed the deal for me as to whether this was a good game or not.

I only rented it but it was worth it. Not something I would buy for full price, maybe if I see it cheap at a resale store since I didn't finish it but yea. Not a great game but not horrible.

Good points you brought up there. And yes I did like the story...star wars games usually do have a great story though (comes with the territory). I just would have liked to have seen a better game overall though.

I think it was a decent game that didn't live up to expectations, like Spore.

The game was too short, not enough content, and the enemies became sadistically annoying as you went along.

But otherwise, it was a great game to rent, but not nearly good enough to buy.

I didn't play it much, but I liked it. Even after ZP's review [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/zero-punctuation/251-Star-Wars-The-Force-Unleashed], I still thought the storyline was really good, it was a pretty game and the combat was fun.

Unfinished. That is how I would define it. When you get to the last few missions your objective screen starts reading (insert default text here). No joke that is what it said. That and the Star Deystroyer bit should have been epic. Instead it was broken and unresponsive. And I found out later the button prompts on the screen lie during that part.
