Well, the brilliant thing about being on a forum is that you can choose to be anonymous. Since I have done that, the only thing that keeps me from posting is if I think there isn't enough debatable matter in a subject, everything has already been said or I just don't care, which is the most common one.

Just roll with it dude.

It's just like talking (granted, typing on a forum requires less confidence but still), you just need to be confident about the thing you're trying to say, get it across in a clear way, and avoid the Religion & Politics section of the forums.

For that way leads to madness.
Eh, I think it's the other way around. It takes more confidence with typing on a forum, since you don't risk gettin flamed over nonsense IRL nearly close to as often as you do online.

This is a clear "yes" for me. I have Asperger's Syndrome, so I struggle socially anyway, and I always worry, in any sort of social medium, that I'll miscommunicate and/or make a fool of myself.

I say stupid things occasionaly and I dont like that and I hate it when arguments get viscous and i get nervous when responding because of the backlash (this mostly comes about when people are aggressive/insulting without warrant, warrant only being agressive or insulting origanally and some positions on certain subjects are simply indefensible, not illogical, I can accept that and wont get mad, but morally wrong and self serving).

Nope. Never suffered from that.

I will strut through these forums just not giving a fuck till the banhammer hits me.
Which will happen in one infraction, it seems.
Yep, for the next 4 months or so anyway. Looking forward to it?
Waddayamean 4 months?
Won't you be permabanned?

Or do you mean 4 months until you start receiving amnesty?
4 months till it drops again.

I was actually 1 month away from having it drop completely at one point, but then I got suspended for "trolling" a pony thread.
Since it's you, I'm going to go ahead and assume you deserved it.

If there is one place I don't have anxiety then it's the internets, you don't know me so all my stupidity is just lost in the wind :p

Haha, Yes, absolutely.
Today I wrote my first PM (here), wanting to let someone know that he won today's internet, and not in the sarcastic way. Boy, that was difficult.

Are you looking for an argument or something?

You dont like me, I get it. Theres no need to spam me with subtle hints, its not going to change anything.

I never use emoticons. I don't feel it goes with my character or the way I write. I just don't like them.
This normally isn't a problem, since the people I talk to use lots of emoticons.

However, you seem to be of the same philosophy as me. This makes things difficult.

tl;dr I can't tell if you're joking around along with me or if you're being serious.

To amend the situation: Here's a picture of a pair of antropomorphic buttcheeks with a ballsack hanging down between them.

Nope.

I was born not giving a fuck what others think I am. The whole town could think I was a gay prostitute with a pineapple fetish and I still wouldn't have any fucks to give.

I'm just that care free.

If I am referring to something personal, then yeah I sometimes feel kind of anxious and a little afraid of the reaction I suppose. But on the other hand I feel more open to express how I feel due to the anonymity, sooooo... Yes, but it is temporary and only a mild discomfort.

Does anyone else ever feel this way when browsing the Escapist, or indeed any other forums you may frequent?
Look at my Joined date. Now look at my Posts number.

What the hell do you think?

I guess so. That would explain why I was lurking on these forums for four years before I finally saw a thread I felt I could contribute to.

Naw if you don't like what I say go fuck yourself. You're opinion does not matter to me, unless you agree with me. :3

Is it bad that I read your post in Marvin's voice? It felt quite fitting. :x

Although I'm going to go with yes, there are other reasons why you may not have posted. c:

Yeah, I'll start a thread feeling really good, then about three or four hours later when I turn on my computer I'll think "Oh, no." It can be fun to stir the pot and drum up conversation and viewpoints, but sometimes I just want the topic to die and I regret having ever said anything.

Joking around, as always.

Still dont know if you are having a serious go at me though :p the "since its you" comment implied it.
Deadpan delivery is my thing. [sub]Well, except for when I'm making intentionally outrageous puns.[/sub]
Just sucks that I'm crap at detecting it when others do it.

Indeed I do.
I've lost count the times that I've written a paragraph or so then just deleting it all and not posting on the thread.
