Not all games need to be installed on the PS3 by the way...

I'd get it on the PS3 out of my 360, PS3 and PC. Because of the free online primarily.
and the pc doesent have free online? seriously, microsoft doesent even charge for games for windows live anymore, leaving the only paid services on the pc being mmo's.

in any case, assuming it doesent have a pc release id probably pick up the 360 version. as others have said the 360s controller is much more comfortable than the ps3s controller in my opinion, espically for shooters. plus i find xbox live much more stable and reliable than psn, which crashes on my every 30 seconds like clockwork.

This is giant flame bait, seriosly this is just as bad as a which is better thing.

Anyway, assuming I have all 3 I'd get it for the 360 just because everyone has a mic, and there is a flaw with the 360, spontanios RRoD.

And there is nothing wrong with the PS3's trigger, why does eeveryone say this, it uses the R1 button, for you 360 boys thats the Right Bumper, theres nothing wrong with it.
while thats true 360 games use the right TRIGGER for firing, which is a little bit easier to reach than the r1 button. but its not just the placement of the r1 button and the right trigger. in my opinion the analog sticks are in a much more comfortable, easier to reach position than those on the ps3. though i do have to say that the d-pad is MUCH better on the ps3, but its rarely a big problem on the 360.

360. It's got the best controller (especially for shooters, especially NOT for fighting games) the best online service, and the widest range of FPS games, though in fairness there's only a handful of FPS games on any platform that anyone plays.

A new FPS is coming out for all three consoles. They all have the same story and multiplayer components. Which console do you get it for?
PROS:
Wii- Motion controls
360- Online
PS3- Graphics

CONS:
Wii- Low graphics
360- (can't think of one)
PS3- Lousy Trigger

P.S. I'm not trying to advocate the 360. I just really can't come up with a glaring flaw.

ASSUMING THAT YOU HAVE ALL THREE

I'm not including the PC. You don't enroll Micheal Phelps in a High School Swim Meet.
graphics don't matter, for the 360 i would say the assholes online, and the fact you pay for the service, so i would get the PS3 because the trigger is fine.

Of the 3 I'd say the 360, though the Wii is theoretically the best FPS console, what with the controller being a pointer and all.

Of course, the PC is better than any console for that genre.

...You know what's great about the ps3? You can get a 360 style controller to work on it. If it be that you want to mod one to work or if you want to buy a third party controller, it's an easy flaw to overcome.

OT: PS3 or 360. I tip slightly towards the PS3 for the fact that you can use the Keyboard and Mouse via the right third party equipment. Tried an FPS on the Wii and it just didn't do it for me.

Also, PC wins even if it wasn't in the running. It's like Batman.

Why not include PC?

I mean everyone who is on this forum... THEY have a PC. Unless they are using the media browser on PS3 but that is pretty freaking unlikely. And Mac users probably are too busy taking pictures of themselves to bother with any games.

Seriously, it is not hard to match even PS3 performance on any PC with a dual-core CPU, which I think now makes up the majority of PCs in use now. You don't need a super powerful PC to play the latest games at as good a quality or even higher quality than the consoles.

Games like Team Fortress 2 will work on virtually any PC.

I would also not cite the Wii's motion controls as an advantage, even a gamepad's single joystick is more precise and quicker for aiming. Only the Wii Motion Plus can possibly surpass a regular controller and very few games even support that, then there is how after playing for about 15 minutes you start to get "gorilla arm" which spoils your aiming even more.

But limited to consoles:

360 has the graphical edge with multiplatform games (Battlefield: Bad Company the 360 version > PS3 version)

PS3 has the graphical edge with exclusive games (Killzone 2 > Gears 2)

But a few games PS3 has superiority not due to graphics but controls like MOH: Airborne that had a really innovative "lean and peak" mechanism controlled by the unique six-axis tilt controller. You could shoot through tiny loopholes or peak just over the top of cover. Really it was the perfect cover mechanism even for an FPS, better than the cover mechanism even of the best third person "cover shooters" like Uncharted 2 or Gears. I just wished more games used it.

Only noobs own a PS3 and don't use these snap on concave triggers:

The wider frontal area overall makes them slightly superior to the 360 triggers for control. It also means when you you put down the PS3 controller on a table you are less likely to activate the L2 or R2 triggers.

No idea of how to implement concave tops for the analogue sticks so 360 retains the edge in that area.

The Xbox 360 controller just feels more natural IMO. I really can't stand for the PS3 one, and the PC is more accurate, but I would rather be using a controller than a mouse and keyboard for this type of game.

Nintendo DS. I for one love the touch controls and find them to be very precise and fun to use.
What. I do hope your joking.
I'm not. That combined with total portability makes the DS one of the best consoles for shooters in my opinion.
