Now, picture this, it's 10 years into the future and fanboys rule the gaming industry. Your one of a small minority of casual gamers who tries to stay clear of going online. You get a knock on the door, you open it, there are cameras everywhere and Bill Gates comes out to congratulate you on winning a competition for free XBox Live Gold time for LIFE. That's right, for LIFE. For you and 4 of your friends.

Now you're in a complete dilemma, none of your mates ever play online any more due to the amount of fanboys hogging the internet and gaming communities. You can't play one game together without fanboys jumping into your game, spouting crap, spamming the chat and yacking their heads of about you cheating because you kill them. Oh, how annoying...even writing this is annoying. (1)Also, imagine that Microsoft had removed the private games ability to "Promote a closer, friendlier community."

An XBox Live Gold account for you and 4 friends, free for LIFE. Would you take it? :]

I hope it's okay posting something like this i this forum, I'm new. >.>

(Edit from 1)
1) i would punch bill gates, and tell him to fix vista ( im assuming vista = windows me )
2) how are you beating 'fan boys' who have been playing halo 6 for a year ( assuming a new halo every 3 years ) when you have been playing mass effect 1-3
2.a: YOU ARE CHEATING
3) why would Microsoft remove aspects already implemented?
3.a: THEY WOULDENT

...why would you ever refuse this? It's free lifetime access to a platform-wide online gaming service. Irrelevant of what the state of the network is now, who knows what it'll be like in the future? Incidentally, Xbox Live is intended to carry onto their next console, and the next, I think, so if it's "lifetime" as you say, then it's lifetime. Who knows, the next console might not be so full of idiots. They could have grown up by then.

Either way, it's free, so how could you ever say no? You should have just asked if we would play on Xbox Live given the idiots they let on there these days.

Free is still free, even if you don't like the product. So yeah, Eagle's law dictates that I must accept.

Who let the trolls out? (Who? Who? Who?)

Of course I would. Would you accept free cable TV for life, even though some of the channels aren't very good? Come on.

Nope. They probably get a one-month free trial (we do here in Australia, at least).

Yes, of course you'd take it, it's free so there's no financial risk, the fact that it may go down sometimes doesn't deter from the fact that it's free.

Um, it's free. I NEVER take the lord's name in vain, so my answer would be something closer to:

Hell, yes, when can I start?

even though I hate fanboys. Still, free online is the answer. Always has been, always will be...
Agree. I would take it because the service is great, the users....eh, not so much. Besides, four friends w/free Gold for Life means infinite fun times.

This is pointless, anybody who doesn't say yes is stupid. You have nothing to lose, in any way, so who the hell will pass it up?
I too fail to see the point of this. I guess it's just an opportunity for people to ***** endlessly about xbox live.

Hooray for the mute button! Also, the cries of "Oh My God! Haxxor! Argh! *sobs*" are what drive me to get another headshot.
Its funny that you say that because my friends and I start up a guild called the {SOBs} in any online game we play now. We started doing this just for those whiney people out there and just had so much fun with it we couldn't stop.

As for this post; I don't see how this hypothetical future you propose is any diferent from the online gameing comunity now, in particular the FPS crowd.

Yes. If you don't like to listen to the 11 year olds who call you a fag every time you kill them, mute the mic or enter a private chat.
