Based on what information?
Please don't feed the troll. He couldn't be more obvious. Just report and ignore.
It?s my fault for giving it a chance to make a valid point or at least an intelligent comment.

As an artist they make me feel bad drawing anthropomorphic characters. That's especially bad when you consider one of my projects involves a world inhabited by insect people.

Furries and furry sympathizers should be dealt with through the quickest and most efficient means possible: immolation.

And thus the pedestals are raised that much higher! Must you people be that out of touch with reality?

Lets be honest here.
How many people think anthropomorphic animal characters are inevitably related to furry "culture"?
Personally I like anthro characters, stuff like Starfox. I also draw them sometimes. This does not make me a furry as far as I'm concerned. Furry as a label needs to be reserved for the more extreme stuff.

People who have a fetish for anthro animals = Furry.
People who think they're a badger in the body of a 13 yr old boy = Furry.
People who can't have enjoyable sex without a massive goofy looking fur suit = Furry.

The first time I heard the term was whenh it was used to describe the fursuit sexual fetish. I imagine that's where many people would have first heard it too.
This is where the hate for furries comes from. Being a furry doesn't mean that you're into furry porn or other sexual acts. Being a furry means you're part of a fandom for anthro animals. I'm not saying you have to identify as one, but please don't try to change the definition in order to distance yourself from them and demonize them.
I'm not demonising anyone.
Forgetting for a moment where the term originated (I skimmed the Wikipedia article to get a rough idea) can you tell me why a label and for that matter a group/community/culture (depending on who you ask) is required for a subject of art?

I like dragons in art, I like fantasy art in general, I like landscapes (especially Australian and rainforest locations). What is it about anthropomorphised animals that people think requires some special form of separation from other art lovers?
This is why I don't claim to be a furry, anyone with any taste in art should be able to see that a drawing of a knight in shining armour is good, whether he has a tail and ears or not.

It was simply a suggestion (an unrealistic one considering the term has already been well established amongst the community it refers to) in order to help stop the confusion (leading to hatred) regarding furry fetish, furry "beliefs" and anthro art appreciation (again I use anthro as a way to emphasise the differences).

See? All this shit is what I'm talking about. It's a sexual fetish, but for some reason it's participants feel it's their duty to make us all aware of it and accept it in our everyday lives. I don't get this, I really don't. Why does it have to be a lifestyle? Why does it have to be our business? Why can't you go about your merry ways and leave us all out of it? It's always some nonsense about persecution or accept my lifestyle, etc.

Let me sum it up. If you don't want the fandom to be receiving all this so called "negative" attention from people expressing their honest opinions, stop shoving it in our face and trying to make us accept it. I know plenty of furries, and none of them are anywhere near as annoying or dramatic as half the people in this thread. You don't see fans of other fetishes parading around acting like they deserve special attention because of what turns them on, do you? It's a sex thing. That makes it personal. PLEASE don't involve the rest of us.

Disregard the trolls, go back to your business, and leave the rest of the world our of it.

I reject your reality, and substitute it with my own.

The only reality here, is that you are a single dissenting voice crying out into a roar of supporters. Your voice has no power here.

Have a nice day! =^w^=

If it's a sex thing... then why are there a large numbers of furries who are asexual?

Answer this question, and you win one Internet.
