A Chinese History game would be cool, though I also wouldn't mind seeing one that focuses on the ancient middle east. Babylon, the Levant, Persia and Egypt. Hell, The middle east, North Africa and include ancient India?

Honestly if there was a game that combined the Total War way of fighting battles with the Crusader Kings style of gameplay that'd instantly become my favorite and most played game ever.
To be honest i don't think that would be possible. Not being able to outsmart the AI in battles, like you can do in Total War, is a key part of the balance in PGS games. Additionally considering how many battles you fight on giant maps like that it would get tedious really really fast to play the battle yourself in real-time.

I voted China (as I'm quite interested in the three kingdoms era), but I also wonder if a pre-Europe America could be interesting? As a European I know nothing of American history before we got there.

There is no real way the TW style of play will work with post black powder armies. The engine is just not set up to deal with long range weapons. Discreet battles with no objectives to take beyond to destroying the other sides army doesn't resemble battles 20-30 miles wide with 100,000 on both sides fighting for weeks.

I would love to actually see the TW guys at Creative Assembly make a Warhmmer 40k grand strategy game, the closest as far as I know, is Dark Crusade and Soulstorm, but they lack the TW touch and large scale world.

I'd prefer something Romance of the three kingdoms esque or warring states. It should be plenty different from Japan.

What I really want to see is a bit more... I dunno Heart? Character? I often feel disconnected from my Kingdom and hope that the Warhammer total war will improve that. Should that happen, I hope that these improvements make their way into other Total War games! Maybe have more objectives in Combat beyond 'Sit on your ass until enemy gives up' or 'Kill the enemy before time runs out'.

I really want to see pre-colonial Africa, simply cause there's not much in fiction that delves into it.

I voted Other. Where's the Dark Ages, folks? I mean, I think the first Medieval covered them, but...it's time for an update, right?

By order...

A game centered on pike and shot warfare (1500-1700). I always found it odd how the bloodiest war in Europe pre-Napoleon never got any notice by CA.

Beyond that, an "Empire sequel" game centered on the Victorian/Edwardian Era just before WWI. I enjoyed FotS and would be interested to see the American Civil War, Paraguayan War, and Franco-Prussian War in action, with improved economy and diplomacy aspects. It would also be a fine transition into 20th century warfare, and why a WWII Total War game would never work.

A Chinese-themed game would also be refreshing.

Why does everyone keep saying the game engine can't handle firearms? I thought Empire and Napoleon made the musketry and artillery work well, it was just flawed AI that led to occasional friendly fire (and probably a lot less friendly fire then occurred historically). Now modern firearms, yeah I can see that requiring a *huge* overhaul of the game but not anything pre-bolt-action rifles; just look at Fall of the Samurai!

I would love to see an American Civil War TW, but the problem with that is that it would have to be an extremely detailed and focused campaign between two factions, similar to Napoleon's set-up and while that's enjoyable in itself, TW's charm comes from having so many different powers duking it out across huge maps. So I'm going to go with a updated, upgraded and upscaled remake of Medieval, with playable Teutonic Knights who don't speak with Russian accents. Oh, and the Pike and Shot era of warfare two other Escapists.
