I've been on a bit of a rant lately, and figured I'd see what some of the gaming community thought about it.. Video game retailers like Gamestop and other stores i call "Disks Behind Counter" stores offer so called "New & Used" games.. but are they really.. I just bought a game recently and it came with something i hadn't seen in a while.. the Xbox Certificate of Authenticity sticker that seals the side.. that little green sticker that goes "hey this is an Xbox game, and the way your getting it is the way we manufactured it" but because of these Behind the counter stores, you never see it anymore.. They insist on taking brand new games, ripping them open, fanning through all the contents, and yanking out the cd to go in a flimsy paper sleeve, and then stuffed in a file cabinet with a thousand others. During purchases, I've seen said "NEW" games dropped, stepped on, coughed on, even sneezed at *and subsequently demanded a different one each time* not to mention the cases are battered, bruised, dented, chipped.. manuals are dogeared, torn, wrinkled.. anyway, other than rambling, can these items truly be called New? Why should a customer be forced to pay the retail 60 dollars for something that has been so abused? Because the store is too cheap to purchase anti-theft equipment? Well, the customers aren't ALL out to steal from you, and if you can't keep your product on the shelf because of theft, that's not Our problem, it's yours. And for the love of feth, stop putting game boxes on the shelf when you don't HAVE the CD in stock.. god that irritates me! You wanna know an easy way to keep track of your stock? leave the fething thing in it's case, then you'll obviously know if you Have it or not!
