I was listening to the most recent Rooster Teeth podcast and they had brought up the fact that most of them throw away their cases after they buy a game. (They soon admitted that they were the minority in regards to this.) It got me wondering on how many people actually do this. So, I put it to you, denizens of The Escapist. What do you do with your game cases? I have a feeling where the majority of answers will go, but I thought I'd throw it out there anyway.

I personally keep my cases in the event I trade any of my games in. It just makes sense to hold on to everything anyway. Could be that I'm just a completest like that. *shrug*

Not only do they provent disk damage, they also can give handy information about the designers or specs of the game

I shall parrot Laur, Armored and Fayathon on this. Protecting the disc and keeping an easily-accessed list of system requirements (or on console, features list and player counts) are the primary reasons I keep the cases.

Do you know if they were talking about PC games or Consul games?

I throw away those cardboard pieces of crap and the "PCDVD" boxes all the time. Though I can't imagine throwing away a consul box. It's just easier to organize that way. I can understand putting the game discs into a CD book, but my paranoid ass believe that just makes em' easier to steal.

Why would you throw away the boxes? I don't get why you would ever do that. Unless you lived in a tiny hole.

I throw the boxes away. I have so many games, that keeping all the original boxes would take up way to much space. Instead I store them in a handy folder.

In Europe most pc games are released in dvd cases. I think you are the the first person I have heard who did not advocate the cardboard boxes.

For console cases why the fuck would anyone throw it away? Where else would you keep the games? Isn't it easier to store and retrieve the game if you keep it in its case? For PC games I understand if people throw away the cardboard box but for console games no fucking way would I throw away the case.

Ok, what box are you guys talking about. I never had my game come in box, came in a case. The case is at most a container for the disc to put in just like the CD games.

They were talking about console. It stemmed from a conversation about the Games On Demand service and how one of them had picked up Assassin's Creed (I believe) and didn't realize it was a part of Games On Demand until after the fact.
