Racing, sports, and music. Not that the games themselves are bad(other than Madden, of course), I just never play them.

Also, OP, change "Roll-Play" to "Role-Playing", if you please. You play a role in those games, you see.

I voted "Music games", but only because you didn't give me "Real-time strategy games" or "Multiplayer-based FPS". Sure, I tried Starcraft 2 for the first one, and TF2 and CoD4 for the second, but I didn't really get into them.

Well, I haven't played any sports, simulation, strategy, or puzzles lately. I don't hate them or anything...I just don't play the genres often.

Typically, I avoid sports and driving. However, there are some sports games (Skate. 1 and 2, and UFC 2009 Undisputed) and some driving games (nothing springs to mind here) that I do enjoy. Just usually I don't like those games. I also avoid most simulation games, mainly because I find no enjoyment in flight simulators or other similar simulators. There might be a simulation game I do enjoy, but besides The Sims nothing springs to mind.

Not really a genre, but I also avoid JRPGs. I just dislike most things about them.

Pretty much all of them, FPS, any shooters, RTS, racing etc etc. I just hate games in general.
A bold statment on a gaming forum!
I don't care, the only thing I hate more than games is forums.
Interesting you are here.

I know it's not a category here, but I avoid JRPG's at all costs. Horrible gaming experiences with 'em when I was younger, and from what I've seen my friends play these days they've actually gotten progressively more unlikeable from my perspective.
I completely agree with you, and I would like to play bass guitar in your band.

Sport game - there is a reason they are always in the discount bin.
Fighting games - Button mashing whoooo
Shooters that are mostly online - I like story driven gameplay
Music games - If I wanted to listen to the song I would, but without the clicking of the guitar controller

Sports games, racing games, JRPGs, most (not all) RTS's, fighting games...

Basically the games I do like to play are platformers, fun FPS's and puzzle games.

Which makes Banjo Tooie my all time favorite game for containing elements of all three (plus so much more) and turning it into a complete and brilliant game.

Hooray for N64 era Rare, You princes of men. Possibly princesses too, but lets face it, gaming and the games industry is mostly a sausage fest.

Sports, racing, often puzzles.

I dislike most TPS games, but there are exceptions. Just Cause 2 and the Ratchet & Clank series come to mind.

Fighting and/or strategy. I've only enjoyed one or two games from each, and I despise playing multiplayer. Why? Because I suck. I admit that much.
Sports games I'm okay with on certain occasion. I truly do enjoy the NHL series, but that's only because I love hockey. Even then I don't get the game every year.
I also really like FIFA 09, but that's the only soccer game I have.

You forgot MMOs. And you should have gave JRPGs a section too. They both aren't very fun in my opinion. MMOs have too many dicks playing (yes I know FPSs have this problem too but at least you can shoot the assholes). And the fight animation usually lacks excitement. JRPGs? The characters suck. And when they're turn-based its even worse. Now I like civilization and all but thats a strategy game. Its not about some unlikable character taking turns with a beastie...
My hit, now your hit. WTF?

I've actually found there is a game from each genre I enjoy, at least for a while so there isn't any I outright avoid. However, there are some genres that I don't play many games from.

1. WRPGs (With the exception of KOTOR and Lord of the Rings The Third Age (Third Age had turn based combat very similar to Final Fantasy X which is one of my favourite games ever and is my favourite combat system ever), I've never really liked them, they're usually really dull and boring (especially Bethesda games) and the character creation system usually only makes people that look VERY unappealing to me and I find the overuse of choosing dialogue to get annoying (I just wish it would have a proper conversation in a PROPER cutscene, they're so much better, the people talk really strange like robots usually) however I think from what short time I played Mass Effect 2, I might enjoy that series a bit. Overall, WRPGs tend to have very little appeal whatsoever to me with very few exception mentioned above but even still, they didn't really amaze me.

2. Sports. Only ever played one with my family but, I actually enjoyed it but, I don't go out of my way to play them. Also sports really don't appeal to me in real life so being in the form of a video game isn't much better.

3. MMORPGs. I've tried several and while they initially interest me I soon get bored within a couple of days). I even tried playing World of Warcraft with friends but, even that got boring and I lost interest within a few days.

That's about all I can think of. So there is usually a game I like from every genre but some genres don't have many.
