Poll: Game Hardware Modding/ Repair

I just want to get a sense here on the The Escapist Forum community who here mods/ Customize or repair gaming hardware.

As a hobbyist modder my self, working on a Sega Saturn to Xbox 360/ PS3 USB adapter I was wondering how spred out this hobby is in the gaming community. Yes I am aware of and frequent forums like SRK and Ben heck forums.

Right now i dabble in modding psp and Wii and repair of 360's. Hope to get into case modding for consoles.

Cool, I hope it works out for you. If you ever get stuck, there are TONS of resources on the internet from DIY guides and "How-to" to forums and places to order parts and other materials.

Nah, I'm not really any good with that stuff, I'd probably just end up breaking it or making whatever problem it has worse.

Modding a console? Why bother? I can emulate the console on superior hardware.

I don't really like the idea of modding a console, but I have repaired consoles for myself and friends. It is a much cheaper alternative assuming the warranty has elapsed.

Yes, I do quite a bit of modding on multiple consoles.
I occasionally spray-paint the face plates and such on consoles, too.

I have on two of my consoles. My PS2 slim I made region free with Swap Magic 3.6 Plus with a flip top cover and a disc I bought from them. The other is my Wii which I never updated online because I had terrible internet so I bought a program disc called Freeloader. Freeloader doesn't work anymore on Wii's today so I was lucky I guess. Having them be region free is fun and I import games from around the world, mostly Japan. I recently imported FF XII International Zodiac Job Edition actually.

I am now currently working ol buying up broken or non-functional systems and controllers, fixing them up and then reselling them.
