How dare you Ninja everybody in your OP! Everything by Troika, but especially VtM:B.
sorry :p i am so happy there are people around who have played it, though! It is very interesting that Black Isle, Troika, and Obsidian are all mentioned on this thread: each company is or was full of former Fallout developers and apparently make brilliant, yet buggy games.

I do have another one that i think is worth mentioning... Star Wars Galaxies Pre-CU. The game was incredibly fun and the entire holo-grinding thing made the servers very active, not to mention oddly making everyone hate jedi while wanting to be one. People loved hunting jedi, griefing jedi, and just generally doing anything they could to make their lives miserable which created an incredible sense of balance between their class and others. I am sad to think that there will never be a game with that sort of dynamic again. The game was, however, completely broken in the beginning. half of the features that were promised were not it the game, there were credit dupe exploits, you could grief CSRs, lots of crashing, completely unbalanced combat system, etc. Star Wars Galaxies was, at least for me, the definition of Pay-To-Play Beta. They fixed most of it to make it brilliant, then "fixed" it a bit too much, but that is out of the scope of the thread.
