The phrase 'guilty pleasure' doesn't really mean you are ashamed of what you do. Otherwise, no one would be posting here. It just means it's something you enjoy that some other people might consider beneath them. It's not like we're screaming 'Shame, shame!' at the people who say they go on Neopets. In fact, they obviously don't feel 'guilty' or else they wouldn't be posting here. Haven't you ever heard the phrase before?FalloutJack said:Give the man a cigar. You expect me to feel guilty about something which I dragged up to my domicile and wanted to mess about with? Are you frigging kidding me? No dice.
I am sorry, fellow game players, but if gaming equals fun and guilt equals not fun, then I logically can't be guilty about having fun. In order to negate this idea, you would have to give me some sort of REASON to feel guilty that can actually apply to me.
Well if it decreases the sheer numbers of repeat threads, then yes.Dancingman said:Oh shut up, does one really need to hear that on every thread.Chiefmon said:This thread has been done many times before.

A ridiculous notion. Anyone can claim that something is below them about anything, so the whole concept becomes meaningless because there is no standard that any people can agree upon, except from person to person. That in of itself means that the standard for guilty pleasure can only be accurately measured by one's own self, since other people will have other opinions that you may not agree with. Thus, if I'm the only judge unto myself, then only I determine if I'm having a guilty pleasure, to which the answer is "No". For me, there is no guilty pleasure. Only pleasure in one column, and guilt in the other. If you are not satisfied with this, mhmmm...tough.Geo Da Sponge said:The phrase 'guilty pleasure' doesn't really mean you are ashamed of what you do. Otherwise, no one would be posting here. And yes, it is possible to feel guilty while having fun. It's quite easy.
Do you really not understand the concept, or are you just being stubborn? No one here really feels guilty about what they are saying. It's just a thread created for a few laughs and you're splitting hairs about the true definition of what the the phrase 'guilty pleasure' means, and how you don't really feel guilty. I would of thought you would get the gist of it from the first page, but apparently not.FalloutJack said:A ridiculous notion.
