After playing Dota 2 for too long, I like to go to hospitals and beat people for their last hit so I can take their money.

Countless hours spent playing the Thief series have conditioned me to notice when other people are looking towards me, and to take note of places to hide or escape through if necessary.

I also tend to dislike tile floors.
With the exception of the tile floors thing I have the same issues. I notice a lot of subtle movements and will usually immediately look towards it... leads to a lot of awkward situations where I look at someone just as they're looking towards me. Tends to lead to them thinking I was staring at them.

When Assassin's Creed came out, I looked at pretty much every building trying to figure out how to climb up it.

Also, I often frequently think about how awesome it'd be if Pokemon were real (ridding on the back of an Arcanine, flying from one place to another with Pidgeott, etc.).

Dammit, why can't their be Pokemon? *cries in a corner*

ACII made me want to visit Italy and take a swim in the canals of Venice. Pokemon makes me want to hope that my fire breathing partner could roast marshmallows for me along with other things.

WHY CAN'T IT HAPPEN?!!

With Hitman, I imagine all the ways I could knock people out, take their clothes and dump the body where no one could see it

It happens

Hours clocked into the Metal Gear series have me sneaking around corners and peaking to see what's up ahead nearly all the time. Other than that, not really.

I'll tell you what I do:

I check those corners like a mother fucker. All day.

Well... sometimes.

After years with open world games like GTA, I gained increased map reading skills. Unfortunately, it crippled my driving skills.

After I finished playing Portal 2 for the first time, I couldn't help but look at a blank, white surface and thinking that a portal could go there.

I once went on a 12 hour session in GTAIV. After that I started thinking about what the best cars would be to break into and how easily I'd be able to take their driver.

Then I had a moment of clarity and was like: "WTF am I thinking about?"

The very first thing I noticed when I visited my future college for the first time was "Holy shit, Ezio would have a blast climbing around here!" From that point on, I would catch myself evaluating every college I visited partly on the parkour-friendliness of the buildings.

I once walked past my bathroom where the door was open and the lights were off in there, so it was completely dark, in 1 sec. I got actually got scared that "F***... a creeper could spawn in there!" and at the same time I acknowledge that I've been playing too much Minecraft...

No no, you misunderstand. I'm not judging anyone, I'm just stating how I 'tick', in that I can't get immersed to the degree where my behaviour changes because of a particular game.
I apologise if it came off sounding as me judging others, 'twas not my intent.
Sorry, my mistake! Thank you for clarifying!

That begs to question, what _does_ influence the way you "tick", and in which ways?

I'm not sure if this answers your question, but the way I act differs depending on the company in that instance. I like to think of myself as similar to the Protagonist of Persona 3 in that regard.
Other than that, I'm extraordinarily akin to my elder brother, right down to the mannerisms and figures of speech, so I suppose the fraternal bond spawned that aspect of my personality.

Apologies if I didn't really sate your curiosity, perhaps if you would elaborate on your query, I could provide a bit more insight.

Hehe, no problem. What I was really looking for, and which has been answered a few times in this thread already, were instances of reflexively and/or habitually applying game mechanics to real life through your mind.
Mannerims are absolutely contagious, and I can fully relate to your experience. But more on topic, say you got in a hostile or otherwise uncomfortable situation, and you suddenly had an impulse to call up your persona by shooting yourself in the head. Basically, when game mechanics get so hard-wired into your head that you react to situations by calling upon that knowledge. :)

Ah, I understand. Thanks for elaborating and as for your topic:
Beyond wishing I could Dragon Shout someone who's pissing me off into an oncoming vehicle, or, as you said, calling my Persona, it doesn't change the way I act in front of other people. I may lapse into an occasional and short lived day-dream which I act out if I'm alone, but other than that, nothing has influenced me that way.
I guess I'm just boring like that. :)

I tend to play that "PS3 trophy earned!" sound effect in my head every time I achieve something awesome.

I also had this strange tendency to sometimes mimic the running animations of Ezio and the Prince of Persia after playing both series a lot, thank goodness I got that out of my system.

When I was really into Wurm Online (a precursor to Minecraft) I would measure the world around me in "dirts" pretty often. Like, I would stand atop a hill and go "I wonder how many dirts I would have to remove to make this level?".

I have noticed myself walking like Ezio or John Marston after playing Assassin's Creed or RDR a lot...
