I am not going to say much, as I do not want to influence your answers. I will say that it is a very important issue to me, and I am doing a school report on it.

I honestly cannot fathom how my getting married can hurt you*. If you're the type of person it's going to bother, don't worry, you weren't getting an invite anyway.

* Hypothetical 'you' of course.

Im in California so this was a big deal a while back. Quite frankly... my political stance on most things is not-carrian.
But, they really shouldn't call it marriage as for a lot of picky people, that would degrade the separation of church in state. They should call it a homosexual union and give them all the rights that a married couple does.... no one would know.

It's ridiculous that we still have legal unions and religious ones intertwined several hundred years after the supposed divorce of church and state. Fix that, and the religious folks can keep their ceremonies gay free while gays can enjoy the legal status of marriage. Everyone's happy, and homosexuals can continue to try to be accepted as human beings.

Homosexuals should have just as much of a right to get married as a heterosexual couple.

I'm honestly for gays getting all the equal rights and benifits of married people, but I don't want it to be called "marriage". As long as they call it somthing else I'm perfectally fine with gays getting the same rights as married people.

Honestly I think gay people need to get married more. It's good for you.

Also it should be harder and less desirable to get divorced. Now adays people just get married for tax purposes.

If you asked someone to seriously be with another person for the rest fo their lives, they bubble up and say OH WE'RE IN LOVE, but most them are secretly thinking "But in any 1 of 8 million circumstances, no, not forever."

Most people get married crossing more fingers than you thought humans even have.

Marriage isn't really a religious thing anymore though. You have to get a marriage licence through the state, and anybody of any religion can get married. Hell, two Atheists can be married anywhere they want by a judge. I know I said I didn't want to interfere, but I thought I'd bring this specific point up because it is too important to pass up.

I agree the marriage isn't a christian dominated term any longer. However a lot of people that I know (okay.. just my old uncles and grandpas who watch FOX)say that it would be the death of Jesus if gay people would be married by the choice. IF they just take out the word marriage then no one would get in a tizzy.

Who cares? It doesn't effect you unless you're doing it. If they want to be happy, let them. You really shouldn't have a problem with it unless you're a bit confused with your sexual identity, and not even at that. Maybe the people who don't like it are prejudice, won't to listen to reason, and refuse to use any facts that they didn't make up.

So long as they don't rub it in my face and try to make me follow them, they can do what they want.
Yet, we all know that that is likely to happend, like when the atheists tried to take the word god of the the "pledge of allegiance".
Not particularly. Though there are extremists in almost every point, you don't blame the entire group for their antics. Until people come bashing my door down asking me to paint rainbows on the walls, people can go fuck whoever they want.
