Poll: Gears of War chainsaw noobs

I hate noobs that just use the chainsaw on Gears!
Me and a friend were discussing, if they should remove the chainsaw from the lancer or give the choice to remove the chainsaw in online matches.
I'd prefer if it would be removed all together, cos i hate chainsaw noobs who just lancer and chainsaw all the time.

All in all, no, you just need to learn to avoid this kind of thing. Aka, grenade them.

I'll add that maybe you suck at the game if you can't kill someone wielding the lancer. Instead of fighting him/her head on, maybe just maybe, you should fight them from afar.

Also, in Gears 2 at least, shooting people slows them down. This makes keeping the "Roll and shotgun blast" crowd and the "Imma charge you with mah chainsaw" gents away a little easier.

Am I reading this right? You're suggesting taking the chainsaw out of Gears of war? That is the whole reason many people even played the game!

Let's run thought some possible scenarios.

#1 (Gears without chainsaws)
Person A: So I hear there's this game called Gears of War Coming Out. You play some badass who kills aliens.
Person B: Meh, played it.

#2 (Gears with chansaws)
Person A: There's this new game called Gears of War where you get a chainsaw on the front of your gun!
Person B: Awesome!



As you can see, the chainsaw is everything.

I like that when people are constantly dying from so called "cheap" attacks, they blame it on "noobs" and how they shouldn't be doing that. The only reason something is called a cheap attack is because, it works amazingly well. If you were such a great player wouldn't you find a way to beat them. Also, if something works, it works, it doesn't mean the player is a "noob," they just found a strategy that works better than yours. Cheap or not, you are dead and they are not.

Also, I know no one actually said they were cheap, but it was implied.

I haven't played gears for quite some time, but I seem to remember being shot makes you lower the chainsaw, one bullet removes all of the pain associated with being cut in half. It's a tactical choice if you use the chainsaw or not, and the very fact you're being consistently beaten with it means you might have to update yours in order to combat this unique style of attacking.

Are you calling them noobs because they're on your team and keeps getting pwned, mbking them useless to your team, OR because they use the chainsaw against you and pwn you? First time i played gears i got shouted at for using the chainsaw. Its in the game, if you dont like people using it play a different game! If an item is in the game its there to be used and i'm gonna use it if i want. Having a go at people cos you dont like your innards spraying all over the screen is a little bit odd if you've chosen to play a game that prides itself on its innovative CHAINSAW.

Yes, the people who ONLY use the chainsaw and nothing else are stupid, but if someone gets you with a chainsaw, then I think it's fair to say you deserved it.

A chainsaw wielding "noob" can almost always be effectively countered and killed with maybe a roll back and then a shotgun.

And you could just slow them down with normal weapons fire from your Lancer or Hammerburst anyway, and if you use a Hammerburst you can kill them extremely quickly anyway.

Or another choice - you could always just roll back, turn around and leg it.
