There are two parts to this thread:
1) Do you consider yourself a geek? (I know this is subjective but bear with me)
2) Why? List things that you do that are geeky and things that are not geeky. Why does one side define how you see yourself?

Me:
Geeky:
-I play video games occasionally
-I play Dungeons and Dragons
-I am generally intelligent (in terms of grades and common sense)
-I am in (marching/concert) band
-I love to read
-I have little interest in mainstream popular culture (preferring old-ish music and old TV shows)
-I write stories and fiction
-I am fascinated by linguistics
-I am a Grammar Nazi

Non-Geeky:
-I am athletic
-I also play guitar and write music
-I like (good) music (a lot)
-I have (geeky) friends
-I sketch and draw well

I consider myself a geek because I devote more time and thought to "geeky" pursuits. While I enjoy the non-geeky things just as much, the geeky things usually take more thought and show a bit more.

I'm not so quick to label myself. Just do what you enjoy; don't divide everything into geek and non-geek.

EDIT: Been thinking about it. How many non-geeky interests are there besides sport?

What is definitive of a geek to me is the interest in a subject or passtime, and the desire to share the joy and nuances of that subject with the people around you. That's how you have sci-fi geeks, theater geeks, western movie geeks, all kinds of geeks. It's the desire to have a shared interest of high magnitude.

Hell yes I'm a geek, and proud of it. The one thing about me I suppose that isn't geeky is my appearance. I pride myself on wearing stylish clothes (especially the Mantaray brand) and my personal hygiene is great. I'm a geek in wolf's clothing...

No, as I am not inept and socially awkward, I get laid, and I have real friends other than to play in a LAN party overnight.

I mean, I am a history buff, and my particular interest is 14-18th century warfare and diplomacy. Does that make me a geek? That means 99% of academia in social science are geeks, because it's not the kind of subject you can talk with a female teen cashier over 30 seconds chit-chat?

I don't like to call myself a geek. I don't like to label myself... Except with "stud".
Looks like I'm just *Puts on glasses* A PORKER! YEEEEEEAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH! Sorry.

No, I'm not a geek or a nerd.
I'm athletic, tan and fit, a great romancer, good at charming people and I'm not that intelligent... With things like maths and science anyway. My brain is not calculative at all...

Also, I'm a painter and a poet... Are those things considered geeky? Well, the girls like it, so I'm gonna say a no...

I just occasionally enjoy an adventure game or two now and again and a bit of discussion :)

EDIT:
Also, I don't watch TV and barely ever watch movies. Tooooo boring...

Sort of, I don't play video games that often any more, but I do watch a lot of anime, post on this website a lot, and am only good at one sport (badminton). But my "Dabbler" badge says I'm not, so I'll go with not geek!

This is really just meant to be for interesting conversation, I'm not trying to "divide up the population"
Everyone here is obviously a mix of many things they enjoy doing, I just meant it to be interesting to see how people see the things they do.

Geek: Yes.

Geeky Things:
-1 I play an OBSCENE amount of video games
-2 I read sci-fi almost exclusively
-3 I watch anime
-4 My dream hook-up is Wonder Woman
-5 I love comic books..er...graphic novels
-6 I had a vanity plate named after Dash Rendar's ship in Shadows of the Empire (OUTRIDR)
-7 I can recite the Original Star Wars Trilogy from memory and include sound effects when I do.
-8 I get frustrated when people say that Star Wars is more technologically advanced than Star Trek and would therefore "win in a fight" (More entertaining? Yes, but phasers beat lasers. End of discussion.)
-9 I have an expansive mental compendium of general knowledge and eclectic trivia.
-10 I use words like "expansive, "compendium" and "eclectic" in everyday conversation.

Non-Geeky Things:
-1 I golf well
-2 I exercise regularly
-3 I love any and all sports (except for soccer... my apologies to any soccer hooligans reading this, nothing against your sport I just don't care for it and I think that we are advanced enough as a human culture to at least tolerate differing opinions)
-4 I have had sex with multiple female partners (Not at the same time... yet)
-5 I am a very social person
-6 I have left and enjoy leaving my house on regular occasions
-7 I relish meeting new people
-8 I never rob anyone of their dignity (either earned or perceived) by putting them down.
-9 I love doing yard work
-10 I love target shooting

I guess I would consider myself a geek because I don't really share the geo-social acceptable activities of my region. I don't hunt (I don't enjoy sitting in a forest for 8 hours freezing my ass off), I don't race cars (go fast, turn left, who cares?), I don't drive snow-mobiles (Again the cold factor) and I realize that there is a far bigger and wonderous world outside of the county lines. Since these are the acceptable passtimes for my region, the fact that I not only don't participate but vehemently despise all of them has left me with a brand on my forehead that apparently says "weird".

About the first post, I don't get how drawing goes into the non-geeky part.
I know for a fact that people in the 2D/3D industry, who don't just doodle for fun, are very much related to the games industry and most likely have consoles at work for the lunch break. And at home.

And even in the toilet. Well that's a bit too much but still, I don't go in the toilet without my psp, think that counts as geeky.

on topic:
- I love fantasy.
- I've read tons of books about myths, demonology and creaturs and where they come from.
- I play board games. (not just D&D)
- I try every popular game out there, but stick to rpgs, personal choice
- Fuck, I play mmorpgs.
- My whole family are engineers so I do get a thing or two about science and math.
- I've been a GM in a mmorpg game when I was 14 to 16.
- I've seen so much anime and read so much manga trough my teenage years that I'm sick of it and can't stand to watch it anymore. If that makes some sense.
- I read fantasy books.
- All my t-shirts have something geeky on them.
- I think that's about enough.

non-geeky:
- I'm a girl.
- And by a girl I mean a girl with girlfriends that likes to shop and to watch gossip girl.
- I like fashion. But that doesn't make me one of these girls who like to dress their bf's as metrosexuals. that thing is sick. I like manly, old hairy men.
- I like hello kitty toys. /guilty pleasure

Damn it, no! We need to stop obsessing over this, when we do, things that are considered geek culture such as Tron and the works of Joss Whedon are considered good regardless of their quality.

I don't think I'm nerdy/geeky. My interests are wide-spread and varied. Sure, I watch anime and play games, but I also like to go running and pump iron.
