What do you think of it?

I hate it with a passion. That is, until I made a class (in MW2, obviously) dedicated entirely to blowing the shit out of people with 'Le Tube of Noob'.

I admit, I have defected. And I'm loving every moment of it, my KD has gone up (I tell myself I don't care, until it goes up, that is. Then I defend my precious KD) and my stress and aggravation levels have gone down. It's truly very fun to be the enemy of all serious players.

This comes at a price, though, I feel like I've betrayed my fellow 'unrealistic, unbalanced and completely broken' game playing comrades (did that make any sense to you, it didn't to me. That's for damn sure).

Not to mention the hate, and hate mail.

But, I digress. What do you think about 'Noobing With The Tube'?

P.S. I've got to stop making CoD threads. Next time I do it, someone shoot me. Or shoot me right now, if you like.

Viable Tactic. Stop complaining.

Christ, it's like when Grenade Launchers were the "thing" in Crysis. They killed me, so i struck back. Hard.

Lucky I usually held a gauss rifle in my hand.

The only game I've played where a "noob tube" was involved was Medal of Honour: Allied Assault/Spearhead, about ten years ago. Good times.

And yeah, I don't really care about noob tubes. My sniper rifle takes care of them.

I use it in one of my Classes, but of course said class is built around insane amounts of Explosions (Claymores, AT4-HS [For all my Explosive Sniping needs], Danger-Close, Scavenger Pro, Etc)

It can be quite interesting, but you need to make sure you factor the Distance and Arc right, otherwise those long range or moving kills can be quite a hassle.

As for my opinion on others using them:

  • As with all weapons, as long as they are not used to exploit a glitch, they're fair game

'Appy?

Really they're no worse than those special people who run around with heartbeat sensors and thermal scopes. Its a way to compensate for a lack of skill to level the playing field with more experienced gamers, or in some cases a way for experienced players to be cheap. It can be a fun way to mix up gameplay in moderation, just don't make a habbit of it.

The so-called "noob-tube" is just a gun, it's a viable tactic, just like camping.

That being said, GTA is just a game. The bible is just a book.

On the games I play, like ArmA II and things like that, Rifle Grenades and Underslung grenade launchers are very imprecise, but very powerful. Which is good, because it offsets call of dutys problem of it being ridiculously overpowered to Scarface levels.

Also, does K/D really matter that much?

[sub]It's just a game, man...[/sub]
KD doesn't matter, if mine goes up, I usually stop caring after a few minutes. The main thing for me was that the game became less and less serious, and became worth my $60 in terms of my 'Fun/Aggravation Ratio' after I started with the 'nades.

EDIT: Fucked up the quoting process, somehow. I fixed it.

[sub]I hope it worked..[/sub]

It's fun, MW2 is an unbalanced joke of a game anyway, so I don't see why I should put myself at a disadvantage. I don't feel like a scrub for playing MW2 in the way I do, I use noob tubes with Danger Close and Scavenger, or I run around with a tactical knife with Commando, or a shotgun with FMJ's on. I doubt IW expected the game to be played like that, but it's just so fucking effective. It's only considered "scrubby" because the people that brand it with such bullshit think that it's dishonourable to kill someone in such an easy fashion.. It's a video game, I'm having the most fun when I'm making people scream down the mic at me, that's very easy to achieve with something as easy to use as a noob tube or shotgun.

The ways in which I win should be irrelevant anyway, because I still fucking won. People need to fuck off with their pixel pride.

I've all faith in modern warfare 2. I'm sorry. I was in it in the beginning, but it's just stopped being fun. Even the sanctity of hardcore has been corrupted by snipefreaks and noobtubers and general douchebags. I'm gonna crawl back to WaW and beg it's forgiveness.

The M203(at least in CoD4) is less annoying than normal grenades. I mean, normal grenades have a blast radius of roughly max. shotgun range, are lethal as long as the grenade indicator is on-screen, can be perfectly timed and aimed over any obstacle. Compared to the M203 which has half the blast radius of a grenade, lethal in less than that, needs max. shotgun range to 'arm' itself, removes the first perk, can't be timed, disappears after a certain distance, can be reliably dodged and in some cases jumping prevents lethal damage.

So.. a question I've never had answered is: why the hell is it called 'noob tube' when over half the weapons and perks are even more unbalanced and easier to kill with?

scavenger...i only know 2 people who are noob toob abusers, and they always have scavenger on too (hell i do myself, i love using claymores)

overall...its a bit OP, you dont have to have good aim at all to fire the damn thing, and the counterbalance for noob toob is the blast shield thing, and that shouldn't obscure your view as much as it does

i think if they made the reload time longer for it it wouldn't be so bad

It's built in to the game, therefore it's a viable tactic as mentioned by a previous poster.

Hell, I tend to be hidden under a Ghillie suit in long grass, or lurking in the shadows somewhere waiting for someone to wander through my scope anyway, so I pretty much sit right behind Tubers and Knifers as the most reviled type of player in the game.

The closest I have gotten to genuinely pissed off was with a guy using a riot shield on Rundown who caught me backed into a corridor. Didn't have a claymore left, and the best I could manage was to crack the shield with my Intervention. After he twatted me to death with the thing I found him again, and I nailed him 3 times in a row though by getting him to follow me into a room that was up the top of a flight of stairs. Claymore at the top got him first time out, and knowing where I was, he came back to finish the job. I was able to get him another twice from the back and side with my USP .45 as he came up the stairs to try again. Then I heroically ran off to find some nice long grass again.

Noobtubers are no skilled whores, using it to get the shotgun attachment is an understandable, but when prestige lvl 50+ are using it ALL THE FUCKING TIME.....well...no but seriously they just get killed right after, they must have a KD of less than 1.2 so really just stop fucking on everyone else's experience...
