I chose other because I don't know what, if anything, happens after I die. It's kind of scary to think about but I try not to let it bother me.

I find my eschatological beliefs mostly run towards Zoroastrianism. I believe that we will all be forgiven, but we will have to atone first. Rather than atoning via suffering punishment, I believe we will simply have to serve those we have done wrong. Thieves having to be butlers, that kind of thing. I'll leave the really hard crimes for God to figure out.

Well... reincarnation takes a few years, you could have bee nstil going up to a heaven or hell, you know, these things probably take a while

I would respond to this, but I'm guessing it would be a logical argument vs. a faithful argument.

What scares me is that IF there will be nothing, then it will be lonely, dark, nothing. Why would you WANT that to happen?

Anyways I choose to believe there is a heaven and hell but there is always a possibility of reincarnation and if, for some reason, you left unfinished business your spirit stays to wonder the Earth either spooking people or trying to finish up the business you left behind

You know, I used to not believe in heaven or hell until I saw ghost myself. I have had paranormal experiences where things moved on their own. Rooms were freezing cold like winter yet it was summer hot outside, I would see "shadows" on the wall yet no one but me was in the house, and I have had one moment a friend of mine died and he told me he saw a white light. He told me he saw things before he died.

Do I believe? I don't know, but one thing I can say there is something after this life. I have had too many experiences for this not to be true or a possibility.

I also believe in reincarnation for this reason: Me and my best friend of mine had the same dream but from two different perspectives. We believe we had a past life together and were destined to meet each other again.

Any concept of an "Afterlife" or "reincarnation" is just wistful thinking.

How does this prove there is nothing afterwards?
It doesn't prove it to anyone else, but having experienced it I can say that there is nothing after death.

I voted Heaven and Hell, because I'm planning on befriending Lucifer as soon as I die. Surely he must be getting tired, I think he needs a replacement. ;D

I think it depends on too many factors to pick just one. Especially with afterlife vs. being a ghost.

Ghosts....pfff:/
The traditional view on ghosts is so optimisitic and narrow minded it hurts. the concept of ghosts is still a sign of an optimist view on moral, justice, etc. sounds strange? ok, explanation:
just read more about the wonderful world of genocide: maoist china, the holocaust, the great purge, khmer rouge, so many more...(actually very interesting. i recommend robert conquer:the great terror to anyone who wants to know more about the sheer amount of madness in it)

Well according to the common definition of ghosts as souls walking the earth because they fell prey to a terrible crime or have unfinished business on earth...those places should be infested with them...millions upon millions. men, women, children. Well there are no ghosts to see (and with so many possible ghosts statistically there must be some to see)
And if there are none in the places of such masscres, why should exist a ghost when one person dies horribly?

what i mean: the concept of ghosts bases on the assumption that cruel crimes are abnormal. After more researh one finds out that they are quite the norm.
People should really read more about genocide, every aspect of it. cures misconceptions of reality quite fast. well and maybe they could learn from it not to repeat the mistakes of the past *chuckles* well who am I kidding?

Oh, and don't get me started on gods and the afterlife.

Picked other.
Same, I've got no fucking idea, let's be reasonable: it could be anything. But then again, if you're reasonable, your personality (who you are) is pretty much your brain, connections in the brain, neurons, etc, and if you're clinically dead long enough that all dies off. In other words, everything wich made you well... you is fallen apart, gone. I still choose Other though, because nature has done crazy shit before.

That's not reasonable, that's logical, and not everything is logical. So yeah, everybody believes something, but nobody anything. People should stop pretending that they do.

I do not believe in heaven or hell or purgatory or any other "religious" places. I even don't believe in reincarnation.

I believe in the soul. The soul is like a aluminum can, that gets recycled after it had been thrown out. We recycle our souls and return to another body after we die - without memories, experience or any earthly materials.

"Assassinator" said a good point. Biological reactions make us feel the way we feel, and after we die... well, we feel nothing. I just have a hard time to understand the reason why the neurons and the reactions do happen to move and react to make you feel. What is it inside our brains that demands us to do the things we do? This is why I believe in the soul that doesn't reincarnate, it only gets recycled. The soul - or the ghost - drives us the way it want's to. Don't get me wrong now! There isn't something inside you that makes you walk and talk the way it want's to. It just observes us and connects the neurons that enhance our feelings.

"The Medic Who Ubered The World" tells us the true fact of most beliefs of ghosts. But there are few other definitions that you find about ghosts. It's truly sad that most people think that ghosts are really some "wandering souls" with "unfinished business".

The place where we go to, after we die, is not heaven or hell, we don't reincarnate, we only wither away our bodies and the ghost just moves to another body.

Maybe I'm just too afraid to believe that there is nothing after death.

Damn... I wrote too much, didn't I...
