I have no clue who Jason Statham or Michael Cera are. I guess an athletic, military-type fitness level, rather than a bodybuilder. I like bald guys though, lol. As long as they aren't too fat.

It seems highly interesting to me that it seems the majority of responses here are from either men trying to "sabotage" the poll, or homosexual men giving honest opinion. Me, I prefer to see femenine men if it's going to be a man at all, but...

BOYS, CHILDREN, can we please stop with this "Trap" business?

That is a pretty offensive slur to most transgenders, akin to most of your more popular and widely recognized racial slurs. If you're attracted to transexuals or transgenders, please use those terms rather than demeaning slang.

Remember though, looks may fade, but a big dick is forever. Like diamonds.
Probably Cera. I don't enjoy his face, but generally his body is what I like. That, or average guy. Meh. I'm not so picky.
It's shamelessly stolen from the wonderful Natalie Dee.[footnote]http://www.nataliedee.com/092111/its-important-to-give-your-daughter-the-talk.jpg[/footnote] I just thought it was odd that the OP thought boob size was most analogous to body type...I thought dick size would be more analogous.

In my experiences, skinny guys like Cera are among the most likely to suffer the dreaded pancake ass.

Speaking as a really tall dude (who has several brothers who are taller still) I can say a lot of women have a point when a potential suitor is 'too tall' it doesn't help that we're all built like tanks. I've one brother who is nearly 7 feet tall, he's gay though, and until he met his partner had a really hard time dating due to his size.

Average or chubby without too much muscle, as long as they have a decent head of hair and shave their body and facial hair. I also like feminine traits, whether it's from being a little effeminate to being a full on crossdressing transwoman. Though there are ways in which "camp" guys can be annoying.

OT: This is just a question of fitness, and if a guy really wanted to he could go to the gym and work out. On the other hand girls can't help what kind of tits they have, which I'm certain was the basis of that random poster's complaint. A better comparison would be a thread entitled "what penis size do you prefer?"
In some ways a guy changing their overall body type can be just as impossible as changing breast size for women. It would be very hard for someone with an overall high body metabolism which keeps them very thin from turning into someone ripped/podgy. Same as someone with a slow metabolism turning into the skinny geek type would be very hard.

Also someone who's only about 160cm is never going to be Arnie.

Admittedly Someone who's already in the middle could go both ways.

The problem with the penis size argument is (as far as I'm aware) there is nothing a man can do to change the size of his penis. All the surgeries do is make it bigger when soft and does nothing to change the in action size which is when it's really important.

Women's breast size (can) change with their weight and hormones. I had an ex-gf who went from an A as we graduated High School (approx 17yo in Aus) to a B/C 18 months later when we broke up, just because she had a growth spurt. My current gf has gone up a few cup sizes as she's put on some weight too. Thats the limit of my first-hand knowledge though and I'm not saying thats the same for everyone

If you pay attention to the content in the thread you'll see just as many people like skinny geeks, as those with a bit of weight, as those who want someone whos ripped.
In the end people need to be less concerned with the fact they may not be the ideal body-type/size for everyone and take more joy in that there are people who do like what they are, even if you aren't the 'perfect' type as defined by media.

Your argument about weight also applies to women. Some women have difficulty with their weight, but it can be overcome. It's sort of a silly comparison because women have an identical issue, to which no better comparison can be made.

I would honestly chock up your girlfriends' experiences to being young and still developing. I'm pretty sure your dick has gotten bigger since you were 12, but that doesn't mean that you'll have a growth spurt at 25. Outside of pregnancy or substantial weight gain, women's breast don't usually change size. And we're talking pretty substantial. My mom's weight has fluctuated between 140 to 190 lbs. and her cup size hasn't really changed.

Boobs are also more visible than a dick, and in a lot of ways are tied to her body style.

Because you can see them immediately they form part of your initial impression of a women and whether you find her initially attractive.
This is then analogous to a man's body type, in that it's what you first see for your initial impression.

Since you don't get to the penis til you've already passed the he's cute/funny/I'm really drunk stage, in some ways its more suited to actual sex part of the relationship equation i.e. how good in bed is he. If he's not your type to begin with you're probably not going to get there in order to judge.

... these are my choices?

Um... of those... Michael Cera, I guess. He's kinda cute.

I wouldn't really hold up Statham as an icon of the male body. Too... bald.

Also, where's the option for Isaiah Mustafa? You want an icon of male hotness? Him. He's my choice.
Yeah I was trying to come up with celebrities that I thought people would recognize that demonstrated the body types I was going for...then got lazy by the forth.

As much as I'd heard of 'Old Spice Guy' I'd never actually seen him - or knew his real name, but after a quick Google I can see why you like. Personally he's like Statham - with hair.

In another thread talking about what breasts men prefer (see: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.319146-Poll-Okay-fellow-male-escapists-BOOBIES) someone brought up that guys wouldn't like it if women asked a similar question.

Well I actually would like to know. I know that most of my female friends appreciate a ripped guy, but is that what you really want in your guys? Most guys seem to believe that girls only like the 'perfect' body and can cause the same issues as girls have, we (as a gender) just aren't as open about it.

So if the guy was right in every other aspect, what body would you prefer him to have?

Wouldn't a similar question be more about male genitalia since it's what we're graded more on and is more personal than "body type".

I agree that my ex's experience was age related. Going to back to 12 was a bit extreme for the penis size, but I'll conceded the point.

Considering that my gf and I are already at 24/25 chances are her current growth isn't hormone related.

If you read a slightly later post than the one you quoted (which admittedly only went up very recently ) I do cover another reason why the body-type/breast size analogy is more fitting.

I'm intrigued by when you've been graded on you genitalia? Admittedly I'm average male size, but usually I find they're more interested in what I'm doing than how big I am.

It's an open secret that guys judge themselves on it, but has a women ever? Anyone out there that can elaborate?

Also look a few post above this for a few reason why I picked body types.

I admit that I like 'slightly' chunky guys (like seriously, my preferred body type for men is Patrick Wilson's body in WATCHMEN when he played an out of shape Nite Owl. It helps if they have an ass. I LOVES me a man with a melon butt)

Muscles are nice, but honestly if I was with a body builder, I'd probably be constantly worried about my own weight and how they view me. I am not fat by any means, but I want to feel comfortable eating an entire bag of potato chips in front of my guy without worrying myself over it.

Skinny guys aren't my thing at all. I'd rather have an overweight boyfriend than one that was a stick. They look like little boys.

Think of it this way.

MOST men stare at breasts first and then the face and other body later, and so a lot of grading is done on that, the size of the vaginal area is unlikely to be graded and the hair is a second and eyes and body next.

MOST women stare at the body and grade it sure, but while breasts seem to determine sexiness in a man's mind, the only real sexual rating outside of body is the genitalia, and since that is of different sizes and is the thing that determines humilation and confidence between guys, it is also most likely to be the more similar thing to grade on in terms of appearance and function.

Since they also become quite familiar with that more than they will any other part of the body (in most cases) it is also something that will become EXTREMELY graded.

It is more humiliating to a man to grade their genitalia than it is to grade their body. And so... if a woman is humiliated by a breast size grading I would imagine the fair and just thing is to grade genitalia for men.

---

As for my body size? It's average with some muscle, and that's what I'd prefer in my friends but also IF I was of a homosexual nature, which I'm not. As for my genitalia? It's about medium with marginally smaller testicles.

Girls can help what kind of breasts they have..

And the emboldened comment made me laugh my ass off, it's so true!

Any guys who want the golden "slight abs but not enough to look like he's worked out", do what I did, which was for 4 months do 100 situps and 50 press ups every evening (obviously work your way up to it). Now I have a bit of definition, and it literally took no effort or cost :D
Just wanna add that you gotta start off without too much body fat otherwise controlled diet and running is required. *slides on sweatpants* Speaking of running I think I'll take a jog.

Having posted in the boobies thread, I had to give this one a look see. Im guessing that the results of both are slightly skewed, but I didnt expect the average category to get the overwhelming majority here. I genuinely like smaller breasts, but it Im guessing that a lot of people just dont like to think of themselves as shallow.

Here's my question. Do the more modest girls of the world simply go for guys who appear more accessible, or do you just find the more ripped dudes intimidating or off-putting? I dont mean the unnatural juiced up bodybuilder look, I just mean large muscles in general. Personality should not play a part in the answer, even though there certainly are connections between the two.

Another interesting fact that many girls know, but most dont is that skinny guys get an added bonus. Since the penis starts inside the body, the more fat or muscle you have at the base of your abdomen, the less of it you have at your disposal, as it were. In other words, we skinny guys get a bonus inch or two. Awesome.

Now that I figured out how to gain weight, and developed the work ethic to exercise and train in Mixed Martial Arts, Im trying to use it to stay toned and healthy, not get huge. Most girls think im like a 2, but for that small percentage that think Im a 9, my good qualities are icing on the cake. Unfortunately I live in a state where the jock rednecks get all the girls.

It's never going to be more fitting than a direct body-type analogy. For this reason, it won't ever be an effective analogy for me.

Also, while one has to do the deed (or at least part way) to see a man's size, one can still change to "I'll call you" instead of "Here's my number/Lets do this again" after the deed. It's not like as soon as you see a guys penis you're stuck dating them.
