In order to keep in touch with my friends as we go different colleges, I've decided to join them in playing WoW. This means that I will be playing WoW, in addition to playing on my 360 (which takes up a lot of my time already).

So, Escapists...

Can I keep up a healthy lifestyle of 360, WoW, and college?

Yes, you can, without a problem.

Have fun with WoW. I hope you find something you enjoy in it.

Hey, now, be reasonable. My lifestyle is healthy and I'm a level 80 mage.

I was able to accomplish two out of three (college, WoW). I wouldn't call what I went through entirely healthy though.

I guess there are some slight exceptions. It's just that everyone I know that plays WoW are helpless freaks.

Yeah, if you want to do it and can prioritize correctly (and have the discipline to follow those priorities) then by all means. The biggest possible problem I see is that your friends may end up having more time on their hands to play WOW, which obliges you to dedicate more time so you don't fall behind them, which in turn leads to ignoring coursework and overall badness.

I'm actually in a guild that promotes healthy management of playtime. It always puzzles me how some people can spend their entire day on (Actually, it doesn't. It's one hell of an MMO). I have several friends who play the game with no problems.

When your at Uni i don't think you will have time for games, just pointing it out. Exams are a *****.

OT:They are other ways to stay in contact with your friends

Your first year is easier, so maybe.

But instead of playing WoW you should join clubs and organizations, and meet with new people. Do your friends have Xbox? Just guilt trip them into playing with you.

Keep in mind you're also paying $30 a month now to just keep in touch with them.

It all depends on how much time you spend on them. If you spend substantial amounts of time on each, I fear that your health and/or studies might take a hit...

If you dislike WoW and the only reason you're going in is your friends, I suggest you quit, and find another way. Not only will you be wasting the monthly fee on entertainment that does not entertain you, but all your new memories with your friends in WoW will be rather bittersweet, always stained by the game.

If, however, you like WoW, then Pros can do that and D&D too, I've seen people pull exactly that. I can't ._.

Speaking from experience, make sure you keep ahead on your assigned readings. Classes assign a chapter or two per week, but if you put it off (like me) you end up 2 weeks before the end of the semester, and having to read like 5 chapters in 5+ text books. Not fun.

I have university, two kids, housework, and lots of hours of gaming to balance... and if I kept up with my readings, I'd be fine. I had time to read, I just didn't do it.
