Poll: Got a number, how long should I wait?

Everyone know that the answer is between 24 and 48 hours. Just enough to build suspense but not long enough for you to be forgotten about (which will happen if you wait a week or more.

Although the Three Days Rule from How I Met Your Mother was fucking hilarious.

I would say call the next day, since I assume the concert was at night. I think that any kind of rule about this stuff is stupid, you're either going to call or you aren't, waiting a certain length of time is arbitrary. I don't think that calling the next day, or even the same day, makes you seem desparate, it seems like you liked her and are calling her

On the other end of the scale, I would say more than two days is too long, and you'd have missed you chance

I find that in this wonderful electronic age low-jacking her phone is a great way to enable you to just "run into" here from time to time. That way you can better gage the stalkee's descent into paranoia, maybe even get some tips. She might let it slip that she could have sworn she saw someone (that someone being you) in the bushes the other night.

Or you could completely forget you got the number then walk back into the store she works at three weeks later and totally not remember her like the jackass you are (you in this case being me).

I was always told the three day rule. No longer then three days or she might lose interest, no sooner or you seem to desperate. I found it to be bullshit. It's an individual thing. Some girls I call after a full day has gone by, some I call on the weekend with a "tied up at work all week" line. There are no set in stone rules, just guidelines.

OT: Firstly, call her just to make sure she gave you a real number. If she answers, just tell her you were checking to see if you'd got the number correctly (if she wrote it for you, say you were just putting it in your contacts or summin'). Then say you'd love to do something at some point in the future, and tell her you'll call again at some point.

It's easy also you probably shouldn't asking on the internet about this kind of thing and surely if you know her from the concert you should be able to make a much better judgment on what kind of girl she is and how long to wait. I hate to say but I think maybe this is one of those seminal "man-up and try it" moments.
