I've always been fascinated by the old west. I also enjoyed Call of Juarez, however how Rockstar's upcoming title,Red Redemption is going to work? From what I've seen, I imagine you will have to wander in a complete wasteland, riding a horse and chasing criminals.Sure there ought to be distant small cities but what elements do you think will keep you playing?

Well being a cowboy is pretty cool but wandering around doesnt seem fun to me.I believe a more linear setting like Gun and Call of Juarez with a good story is far more interesting. The second CoJ tried to adopt a sandbox like feeling but to my mind has failed ,badly..

It'll likely work a lot like Gun. I doubt its going be as empty as Gun's world, though.

Damn...now I gotta find a copy of Gun. Short game, but sweet.

Either way, I don't really want it. Never played the first, and never will.

I could never get into any rockstar game because the character animations are so...clunky. I guess thats the best word I can come up with. Whenever I see a new trailer for a game it always looks very weird and I can instantly tell its a rockstar game. This actually looks better in that respect but I'll probably just ignore it.

It certainly looks very pretty.

But I've become a little jaded with Rockstar's antiquated play mechanics recently.

Well, there are two settings that have "open world neccessary" practically written on their foreheads: "Space" and "Wild West".

I say this game can pitch itself into dishwater. What the magical land of gaming requires is more GUN.

God, what a great game that was. I never liked the first RDR and RDR2 will surely be just as unfun to me.

I enjoyed Red Dead Revolver and Gun(should get a sequel imo). The Call of Juarez games were only ok tbh.I was quite excited about Redemption as it seemed like a successor to Gun.However having recently beaten the borefest that was GTA4(worst GTA game yet)I'm starting to have my doubts about it

It's a rockstar game, it's bound to have plenty of story-based motivation to keep you wanting to play. Hell, I'm on my third GTAIV playthrough and still enjoying the story a lot.

Really blowing my mind with that detailed coherent sentence. Good job!

I'm not a huge fan of the old west, it's basically just fire once, then wait 15 seconds to reload. (unless it's a revolver)

The game itself however does look good. I just won't personally be looking forward to it.

Don't let it blow your mind too much there, Cochise. You might just wind up with a nasty little nosebleed.

Nose bleed for my sarcastic remark at you breaking a forum rule?

And then throwing in a fake threat? (i.e. Nose bleed.)

Hah. That's a good one.
