I liked Red Dead Revolver though it didn't have much (if any, can't remember) replay value other than multi-play.

I like the music used in the Redemption trailer. Reminds me a bit of Neil Young's soundtrack in "Dead Man [http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0112817/]". And if it's a bit more open-ended, take your missions as you like, I'm definitely up for a play.

Being that it is only on 360 and PS3 I won't be playing it.
If there's one thing we've learned is that it will eventually show up on the PC. My question is, will PC gamers be willing to put up with this type of schedule as a standard.

As for me, I'm not really into the western sub-genre. But I'm not into the post apocalyptic sub-genre either and Fallout 3 is my favorite game of this gen so far.
So I can't rule anything out. I'll sport a rental for this but from the things I've heard about the mismanagement at the R* office finishing RDR, I'm not quite as hopeful as I was for Fallout 3.

We'll see.

Grand Theft Horse?

This is starting to really piss me off because Red Dead Redemption is NOT being made by the same people who made GTA4.

Rockstar NORTH made GTA3, Vice City, San Andreas, GTA4 etc and is currently working on a brand new IP called "Agent"

Rockstar SAN DIEGO made Red Dead Revolver, several Midnight Club games and is now about to release Red Dead Redemption.

Just because you see the "rockstar" name, don't think it is the same guys and same game just GTA with horses.

I know it is confusing as you have the Publisher "Rockstar games" and each of the studios they own adopts the Rockstar prefix, but seriously. Different studios people.
I wasnt aware of that, relax =)

I've never been a fan of westerns by any stretch of the imagination, but for some reason I've always been rather attached to the idea of a game in the Old West. I didn't get to spend very much time with the original Red Dead Revolver, but whatever ten or twenty minutes I spent with it were certainly enjoyable. This game looks fairly promising and I hope it turns out to be good.

So it'll be a bit more open then Gun, but hopefully better laid out than Call of Juarez. Sounds kind of interesting. One can only hope, as both of those games had a few fun points throughout. ...Yeah, should be good.

Oh damn.... I'm gonna lose my job, my house, my wife and half of one of my kids because you reported me... Boo-hoo... I'm practically swimming in my tears. (Thats a little sarcasm for ya there, little lady) I'd feel really bad for you if you feel like you just accomplished something...that is, if I cared.
If you're replying to someone, quote 'em.

And no, all Reporting does is alert a moderator of the website if some one is breaking a rule. They will then come here, read the post and determine if it is indeed breaking a rule. If so they decide on punishment.

By me saying "Reported" it gives you a chance to either edit it out, and stop doing what ever you are doing.

In this case, trolling another member.
Me? Troll? Nah.... Thats not what I'm doing. I'm just strolling the forums at my leisure whilst you lord over poor old people like me with your "Rules of the Internet" and whatnot. Then again, you're at most, what, 16-17 years old? It's pretty normal to want to feel "empowered" at your powerless little age. I'm gonna have to say goodbye to you though. I don't make it a habit of associating with people under 21. When you're of age perhaps we can kick back at a bar and talk about it like adults. For now though, this should end. I wouldn't want your mommie and daddie to get mad at the bad old man for trading barbs with their little baby. Take care though.
You two are getting really boring.

I never paid any attention to the game before, but that trailer actually piqued my interest. I'll have to research it more, but if it is a sandbox game in the wild west that can actually carry itself I'd be interested. The only problem I have with games during that period is that every firearm comes off the same. A big part of shooting games for me is the variety of weapons at your disposal, and at that time you had four. Revolvers, repeating rifles, bolt action rifles, and shotguns (single and double barrel). I'm sure they'll throw in TNT since every game based in that era has it. At a certain point reloading after firing a maximum of eight shots, and a minimum of 1 it gets old. It's still a very interesting piece of American history, and it's a great setting, I just hope they can overcome the repetitiveness of combat. But I learned from Call of Juarez, using basically the same six shooter with a different name for the entire game gets old.

I played Red Dead Revolver. I loved Red Dead Revolver. I'll play this.

Whether I love it or not is irrelevant. I'll still try it.

Yea, this will probably be the only other game I buy this year. Wait...unless the big Nintendo titles are coming this year (Zelda Wii, Other M, Galaxy 2).

i spent the whole of saints row 2 wearing a cowboy hat just to make it cooler so a game where you have to wear one is alright in my books.

I'm guessing a western game would rely on its atmosphere and story mostly. I's gameplay would be shooting from a horse or using a pistol. Overall, nothing gameplay wise that other games wouldn't have.

I enjoyed Red Dead Revolver and Gun(should get a sequel imo). The Call of Juarez games were only ok tbh.I was quite excited about Redemption as it seemed like a successor to Gun.However having recently beaten the borefest that was GTA4(worst GTA game yet)I'm starting to have my doubts about it
I liked GUN... Although it was quite hilariously bad at some bits. (Lovin' the final shotgun by the way, 7 barrels!?!?)

You're assuming too much about the game from trailers. You need to play the game to know what its about.
