Considering that nobody in your poll actually fights 'hand to hand', I choose not to vote. If I were to vote for a hand to hand fighter, it would definitely be Tifa, of Final Fantasy fame. Kazuma Kiryu of Yakuza is a very close second.

Ryu from Street Fighter. Hand-to-hand fighting is his life, past, present and foreseeable future. He's almost always wearing that ratty karate gi, just in case he runs into someone who's willing to drop everything and duke it out in the streets. Hell, the man travels around the world on foot and doesn't even own shoes.

It's freaking Dante. Why? He doesn't die. He just doesn't. He has a sword and guns, but he doesn't need them. If someone can get pinned to a statue through the heart with a Cloud sized sword, then pull it out and walk it off, they just win. Forever.

I'm also amused how so many people chose Altair. Don't get me wrong, I love Assassin's Creed, but Altair is far from the most graceful hand-to-hand fighter.

This exactly, of these choices, Dante (DMC) clearly wins. But I still gotta go with Gene from God Hand, his right arm belonged to God. He can dragon kick your ass into the stratosphere and chop off your head with his bare hand
