First class shit on it. But then again First Class shit on basically every other superhero movie I've ever seen, yes I am including The Dark Knight. First Class was also one of my favorite movies I've ever seen. But on the topic of Green Lantern, First Class was heaps better as the vote says, but I didn't think it was a bad movie. It's ending and story were predictable, but it was entertaining. I think generally for a movie to be considered completely bad it has to have predictable and lame story telling AND it can't be entertaining.
I feel like Dark Knight was overly hyped simply because of Heath Ledger's death. Christian Bale is HORRIBLE as Batman, and everything else about that movie was very meh.

The ending especially. What the hell was that BS....

I'm expecting the next Batman to tank and hard. I mean Bane....? Really? Did they SEE Batman and Robin?
Yeah, I don't get why people flip out over TDK so much. Especially since Batman in my opinion isn't all that great a superhero. I mean I get the whole thing of he's doing all this shit without the ability to fly or shoot lasers or whatever, but that's just it... I mean at this point he's just a rich guy who tries out all kinds of weapons before DARPA gets a hold of them. Not all that interesting. I'd much rather see a movie where people have actual super powers. I don't know I just think it's a lot more fun to watch a guy fly around and beat the hell out of people and shoot them with lasers than a guy basically swinging into battle with a cape and punching people.

I know, right? I mean, personally I like Batman (more or less some of the villans, Arkham Asylum/City were fun, and the 1993 animated series) but I totally agree. I actually never really thought of him as some pompus rich dude beating the shit out of people, but now it's all I can think of. And I think that if I was going to see a super hero movie, I'd want to see something like First Class where there are people with crazy powers where it makes sense why they don't get hurt falling from large heights (I still don't know how Batman survives half the shit that happens to him) etc.

Oh, come on. It wasn't the worst comic book movie of all time, how could it be? We've had comic book movies for, what? Thirty or forty years at the most? You're judging pretty quickly, OP.

I, for one, thought the cast and crew did the best they could with what they had - and they just didn't have much. When a small cadre of writers ends up being picked up to work on a single movie, that's usually a bad sign. It was poorly conceived, yes, but fairly well executed over all. If you want to blame someone for the movie sucking, blame whoever decided of the movie's focus and tone.

The Green Lantern's universe is extremely rich, and we didn't get to see a shred of it. If I'd been involved in the production in any way whatsoever, I would've tried to make Hal's origin story coincide with the War of Light.

Although, if there *is* a sequel - which I doubt - we might see Sinestro return as a Yellow Lantern.

I thought it was incredibly mediocre. Anyways, it's not the worst because Batman and Robin and Steel. People have such short attention spans.
