Poll: GTA 4, or Saints Row 2

I thought about making this thread a while ago, and now that Yahtzee has done the video about it, I feel compelled.

Please though, don't vote for the choices unless you have played both at least a few hours, preferred that you own both. That's why I included the haven't played choice.

I picked Saint's Row 2, but I don't actually have that game, only GTA IV.

First one, I didn't see when I searched, second one, refers to the nature of Saints Row, not Saints Row 2

As well, when he posted, the game had been out for hardly a week, not as many would have it as they do now, and the influence of Yahtzee's review make this poll statistically independent then the others.

And I hardly call half a page death.

No need to be like that, I simply started this thread to get some opinion from those of the escapist community. My only fault, I see, was putting it up while you were at your computer.

Also, by your reasoning, politics shouldn't take multiple polls... not like any opinion ever changes....

My point was, that you could have researched before jumping on making a new thread. But you're right, peoples opinions change.

I haven't played either, but from what I've seen/heard, Saints Row 2 looks like a much more enjoyable game.

Well, to steer back on topic. I haven't played Saints Row 2 for very long, but since you say a few hours then a few hours it is! I loved GTA 4's missions, storyline and gameplay. It wasn't without its faults but it was a darn tootnin' good game. But the killage was gone. Remember San Andreas? You could make yourself invincible, turn off the police and fly off in a tank. While firing rockets directly into the police station.

But 4 took that away. The cheats weren't for fun. Like flying boats, or bubblecars. They were to help people through the game, you couldn't go on a mad rampage with a chainsaw anymore. Saints Row had the killage... sort of. Sure it was fun, but it somehow lacked the sheer awesomeness of the old GTA's. In the end GTA 4 is the better game, while Saints Row, is just a "more fun" edition. But not as fun as the old GTA's.

Well, Saints row is a newbie, the first one didn't even have motorcycles. But the customization is what won my heart, the fact that is still had the humor and direct uncouth actions. The characters were great, which is why the ending was such a slap to the face.

Left me wanting more, and I was ready to pawn off my own kidney for 2.

That would be a kidney well spent. I never played GTA after I beat it...but SR2...I will play through at least twice and once the achievements are done it has some "fun" cheats to fall back onto.

I always liked GTA and I've only seen the cover of the Saints Row games, which lead me to believe you're a black guy doing the whole 'gangstah' thing, which appeals to me not, much like San Andreas didn't appeal to me.

Does having a gang of ninjas, or being a white guy in a tophat with a British accent sound 'gangstah'?

Heh, no.... The theme of your gang can be anything from 60's hair and clothes, to 'gangstah', to ninjas or FBI angents.

All at your choice, and you can change it anytime you want.

And the vehicles, you get to pick which ones you gang uses... Sports cars instead of old empalas, sure, how about SUV's and even APC's... yup....

Have any idea how cool it is to see a SUV stop, and 4 ninjas jump out with guns?

I have only played GTA4 so I used the third poll option. I was surprised to see that Saints row was edging the poll. It must be good, I gotta check it out sometime.

I enjoyed GTA4 slightly more, thanks in no small part to Roman's voice actor. <3

Another thing to bring up, is that i felt a lot closer to the characters in Saints row, they seemed more badass, more... well, badass...

Johnny Gat has got to be the single most amazing guy int he game, with Julius slightly behind him...

They just seem a lot more realistic (for the universe).

When Aiesha (Sp?) gets killed, I got really pissed at the Ronin, made me want to hunt down every last one and bash their skulls in
