SR2 is just plain fun. GTA4 was all focused on story, gameplay, and your stupid effing cousin. SR2 was focused on fun. Chainsaws, poop spraying, and a pretty cool storyline ontop of it all.

I preferred SR2, just because the makers went into the game to make something of pure fun, and still put together a story that is reasonably connected. And the phone in GTA4 made me f^cking furious, I just got so sick of dealing with other peoples shit, If I wanted to get hassled by people I barely know I would stick with real life.

Neither - can we get away from GTA and its knock-offs? Atleast Spider-Man 2 brought a whole lot new to the fore.

Knock off? That's like saying the guy who invented the first computer was the best, and all the ones today are knockoffs, even though they use the same core, doesn't mean they are even near the same.

And dear god... Spidar-Man 2... I just think you're trying to get an angry response for that.

SR2 is unique, int that every single storyline mission is never the same as another. Even the strongholds get different objectives, which is why it's so fun to do it ALL.

I only bought Saint's Row 2 tonight after pretty much the entire internet told me to. Even Yahtzee enjoyed it, and this comes on the tail end of rave reviews everywhere and all my friends telling me how much time they've been sinking in it.

Hopefully I'll get to play it soon but I want to finish Fable 2 first.

gta4 was alright. But it was missing the fun factor of the early games. Saints Row brought back the funny chaos of grand theft auto and other assorted crimes

I do prefer Saint's Row 2 a lot more than GTA4. Saint's Row is based more around mayhem like fun which is what I like in a game some times.

I'd pick Saints Row 2 over GTA IV. GTA had me counting down the hours to that little achievemnt (Yeah, I own a 360) popped up on the screen to say I had finished the game. I didn't enjoy it at ALL. Saints Row 2 on the other hand, I get a laugh out of. I want to play it consistently, and when I'm meant to be thinking about important things during the day, I'm thinking about killer prostitutes wearing a prom dress and top hat. Saints Row 2 is just fun, it isn't 'realistic' (Why game developers feel that realism is better, I'll never know. Isn't that why we're playing games in the first place?) and it isn't trying to take itself too seriously. Its how games should be and hopefully, always will be.

On another note, what was up Richard Groovy Pants' ass? "Did you search through the other threads...?" Of course he DIDN'T! He wanted to post a thread about a topic he liked, isn't that what a forum is for? D: Do people in 'the outside world' (You know, that place beyond your doorstep), before starting a conversation, go around to EVERYONE in the nearby area to make sure that THEY'RE not talking about the same topic? I didn't think so.

I'm with ya, Erikaiht. Sorry EzraPound, but exactly HOW long have you had your head stuck up your ass? Spider-man 2? Dude, there has NEVER been a decent Spider-man game (Except for the ones back on the PSOne). The Spider-man 2 game was a steaming pile of dogshit, the only thing it brought new to the table was a shitty sequel.

Where's the "done this before" button?
Read above explanation.

Plus the following.

Electricity was already done by Edison, but Tesla tried it and innovated and improved the technique, developing alternating current.

Only because of him do we have easily accessed electricity, before AC the required thickness of a wire for a single street lamp, was over an inch, afterward, it's the small cords we use now. we're able to send electricity hundreds of miles instead of just a few blocks.

What if someone had hit the "done this before" button for Tesla?

Yes, but you don't seem to understand that these are two different things, that could have changed the history of humanity while you failing to use the search button clutters up our forums, so while it's not an incredibly large deal, it's a bit rude.

I liked GTA IV a bit more, but they are really two different types of games, while they are both crime games, Saints Row is focused more on ridiculous feats while GTA offers a richer narrative, better character development and more drama.

I haven't played saints row 2 yet but GTA4 was one of the best games I've ever played, so saints row 2 would have to be the greatest thing ever made by humans for me to think it's better than GTA 4.

It's my game of the year as of now, maybe once I play fallout, that'll change.
