I really tried
but I stupidly specced into things like lock picking and science, things that I didn't need much at the start
also, I didn't really like getting shot at that much, and the shishkebab set off a room full of gas when i pulled it out, and that just made me go "no"

Imagine how much more awesome the world would be if we all used swords instead of guns.

I have an idea! Let's go fight, I'll bring a gun, and you bring a knife. See who wins. In actual combat, knives are very rarely used since they require you to be extremely close to your target. A suppressed pistol works better for stealth situations, because a good shot can easily hit the head of a man-sized target from a safe distance. However using a knife or melee weapon would mean that you'd also need to know stealth, Ninja style, and if you are a sneaky bastard, by all means use melee.

And when things get tacky, I shoot melee weapons.

I choose melee. Its simple really. You guys run out of bullets, and I run towards you guys with my weapon, and bash in your skull. Then your brains are all like "Oh no, I'm all over the wall!" and I'll be like "Quiet brains! Get back in their!" and then your skull will be like "CRACK!" and then my crowbar will be like "WHACK!"

Mêlée and ranged weapons are both for people who haven't the guts nor the skill to use high explosives.

Melee. Theres nothing better then smacking the life out of an opponent. Shooting is nice, but beating (or slashing) the crap out of your enemy is so much more emotionally(sp?) rewarding

I usually just use guns but melee has a visceral feel that you just don't get with guns.

I like melee because it doesn't waste ammo. You can do it as much as you want.
