Though you don't have to reload a baseball bat or crowbar guns are vastly better. You can talk down more targets down with lass danger, physically having to get near to them to swing. GUNS all the way!

I think this should be ranged vs melee, as you can melee attack with guns. Anyways, I choose guns because, given the option, I'll be the prick with the sniper that drops you from halfway across the map.

I tend to stick with melee, although there's a handful of games that make me switch to gunplay, most notably Fallout 3.

Gunplay always had the advantage cept its noisey, but if you set it up right, melee is quieter and can have just about the same effect if properly setup.

I have no love at all for guns, but give me a sword and shield, maybe a horse if the game's mounted combat is any good, and let me hack and slash my way through the assembled enemy hordes.

Considering how I'm actually a man I go for melee kills.
Considering how I'm actually a woman I go for melee as well. It is just far too much fun to run in and hack and slash my opponent. And oh the joy when you get the critical hit and chop its head off or watch it pop.

Although I do enjoy casting (shooting) or even the occasional heavy repeating crossbow (kind of like a machine gun), there is nothing better than duel weiling kopeshes (big bad swords).

I would say that in video games, Guns
But in RL, definitely melee, some melee weapons are awesome.
Anyone here heard of the rope dart, or meteor hammer?
It would be totally worth the decades of practice that it takes to learn them
(provided I could be bothered starting)

Mélee is way more satisfying, nothing like killing a person up close and personal ;)

I can believe that. on CoD 4/ WaW it is way more satisfying to sink your blade into an enemy's flesh.

At least I hope you were talking about on games o_O
