I'm a guy, and a fan of romantic comedies in general.
Have you told your parents yet? It's ok, times are different now. Except in Texas, I don't think that's legal there yet.
I have, and told them it's their fault for taking me to musicals as a child. <.<
It works for me though, I'm one of the few guys who always enjoys a movie date with a girl!

Except for Enchanted though. That movie was fucking awful.

The rule with rom-coms is the same as all movies and pretty much all media.
Most are crap, some are good.

No. But mainly because any and all romance stories tend to make me want to slap everyone involved for being so fucking stupid. Seriously, I've never seen a romance where the main focus of it acts rationally.
Also, the whole lack of interest in social relationships thing that I've got going on kind of keeps me from being empathetic toward romance.

Rom coms are the funniest things ever. I like watching them and pointing out how stalker-ish the men or women seem and how many things if tried in life would so not work. I usually play them in the background for noise as I clean. Though some of them have some fairly decent music. Like P.S. I Love You had The Pogues and Flogging Molly........

Personally though I like my movies to be full of blood and gore.

I can't think of one that I've truly enjoyed to the point where I'd go back and watch it completely on my own accord. Then again, I've not seen that many of the genre. I'm sure there are bound to be good ones out there that I'd like.

The only "romantic comedy" I enjoy is Shaun of the Dead... and it doesn't particulary fit in that genre to be honest.

I hate romantic comedies. IMHO they tend to be about as romantic as watching the mating cycle of penguins and just about as funny.
Um, penguins are WAAAY more awesome than the majority of rom-coms.
That may be, but that doesn't make their mating cycle any more enjoyable to watch.
Debatable. Personally, I could watch penguins all day, doing whatever they want. Rom-coms on the other hand... different story.
I'm guessing you've never seen any documentaries on real life penguins. They are monumentally less interesting to watch than they are in cartoons and animated movies about tap dancing. ...much like RomCOms
Actually, I have. And I haven't seen either of the Happy Feet films.

I'm actually genuinely fascinated by bird behaviour.

For me it's just that most of them suck as movies, not so much its theme.

If Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain (or simply: Amélie) counts as a romantic comedy, then sure. It's great.
I love that movie so much.

Well, I like plenty of films with romance and comedy in them, but if you're talking about conventional, platitudinous, pop-corn movie schlock than more often than not I'm going to be rather averse to it (that said there is the odd occassion where somthing about the movie wins me over enough to appreciate it for what it is). Though I do appreciate rom-coms that actually try to say something about the nature of relationships, hence I really like things such as 'When Harry Met Sally' or 'Chasing Amy' the latter of which in particular I haven't seen a film do a better job of addressing the nature of slut-shaming since. Kevin Smith, Y u no write like that anymore?!

I'm a girl. I like a rom-com every so often (mainly they remind me that I still am an emotional female) But I have to say, Alot of people are mentioning Love Actually as a good rom-com. Serious question: ARE YOU FECKING SERIOUS? Love actually was a terrible terrible movie.
I have to say I've made a few people (some guys) watch While You Were Sleeping. It's my favourite rom-com. Cheesy but funny.
Anyway I prefer a good action or thriller.
