If I had a pound for every Halo 3 thread... Actually, come to think of it, I'd much rather have say, a hot dog every time someone made a Halo 3 thread. It'd be health-destroyingly awesome.

OT: I can't really say, as I have only played Halo 3.

The first one was the best in my opinion, why? Because it was the first one, others were just the same thing in disguise.

To this day, I still like the first one the most. It may not have had online play but that's the one I had the most fun with and out of the main 3 games, I think it had the best single player campaign.

Halo 3 is the only one i have played, didnt find the gameplay that great and the story was bland. Cant understand all the hype over a fairly standard fps

I thought the first was the best honestly, there was enough there to make it a classic in my opinion. After that comes Halo 2 and then Halo 3 in terms of the trilogy. I still rate Halo 3 quite high though.

By the way, Halo is up there with Twilight and MW2 for flamebait. this probably won't last long.

This. I suggest investing in a flame shield, or common sense.

And as I've said before
Combat Evolved had the best campaign (Sans Library)
Halo 2 had the best multiplayer maps.
Halo 3 had the best multiplayer gameplay
ODST had the most interesting story and (gasp!) likable characters.
