Thanks for all of the positive feedback guys!

@IdealistCommi- How do you add pictures btw? Escapist Forums weren't behaving.

@Sonicron and Dyp 100- Halo 1 is really good, No argument there, and I picked up ODST a week after it came out for $40 bucks from a friend. It also seems my Avatar outranks yours.
FOR THE ME!

Good review by the way, it had character. The only criticisms I have is it's probably best not to give a score overall, but a recommendation or bottom line. Scores are really an industry thing that don't benefit us, and cause aggro. And there are a few grammatical errors here and there, but nothing major.

And damn you to hell for the title, it sucked me right onto this review!

Hmm. You know, this is actually the first review I've read of this game that makes me want to give it a try. I know the damn thing has been out for months, I just couldn't be bothered to even rent it. The first Halo game I ever played was Halo 3, then I played Halo 1 and 2... and aside from the fact that I don't understand all the rabid hate Halo 2 received (and continues to do so) I have to agree with you, the first game was best regarding gameplay. If what you say in your review holds true then I guess I know what I'll be playing and enjoying next weekend.
Keep it up!
I'd reccomend giving it a try.

I was never really a Halo fan, this was the first one whose atmosphere really drew me in.

There is something very calm and peaceful about wondering the deserted streets of New Mombasa by night, it almost reminded me of Fallout 3 at times.

It gets linear and corridoor-shootery towards the end but it is still fun, the mechanics all work well and the vistas are very nice, despite the low textures that show the engine's age.

Aaaanyway... I digress...

Give it a try, you might be pleasantly surprised.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
yeah, I was always hoping the elites would show up, at least at the end of the story to get your ass out of a hot zone, them having just switched sides recently, it could have been a neat place to add a new elite char or something. But then again I always liked the elites, thought they tended to have more interesting motivation then the humans did, I mean how deep is being the military and fighting a hostile alien force? Granted Im not looking for double cross after double cross, Im looking at you random game from japan but having a bit more then just the epic struggle against a stronger foe is nice.

Hmm you make quite a good point about ODST being a more propoer sequel to Halo 1, I still haven't played ODST but I want to.

As for your actual review, it is ok but not properly written to cover the game so well. You just basically wrote one paragraph about how it is better fit to be a sequel to Halo 1 than Halo 2 was.

At least you didn't make any mistakes or retarded statements. Kudos.
