are you talking about the game reach? or the book reach?Beefcakes said:Yes they should, because I think it would be non-stop awesome
No I don't think they should because I think it would ruin the franchise, and piss of fanboys and probably not very faithful to the games/books
Arrrghhhh my brain
Maybe a Halo story, not about Master Chief
Like a Reach movie?
[Fuds for thought]
Then I guess I'd be talking about the gamegmaverick019 said:are you talking about the game reach? or the book reach?
the book is ALL about master chief and his rise to being the beast he is.
OT: if they did it like landfall or just made it a decent popcorn movie, i would be very satisfied.
in the book, they have a part where he is still a kid, and lets just say he is a rapist when it comes to playing king of the hillBeefcakes said:Then I guess I'd be talking about the gamegmaverick019 said:are you talking about the game reach? or the book reach?

But I think a movie based on how Master Chief becomes awesome-sauce would make for an awesome movie also
It's the same reason every movie adapted from another medium usually ends up like shit, Hollywood writers and directors feel they are superior to every other creator in the world and make changes to the material for the sake of making changes. Take comic movies for example, it's only recently that they have made movies based on them that are good, and for the most part they are made by fans of the source material. On the other end of the spectrum we have the Transformers films that were written by two guys so out of touch with the material they were asking for help on character motivations (not to mention names) on Transformers fan websites and were mixing all the different generations into a mishmash that worked less than the final product.Billion Backs said:We should ask "why" instead of just going with "Oh well, it didn't work the first time so we shouldn't touch it".Protocol95 said:I would have to say no. Movies based off of games rarely turn out to be good.
What makes game-based movies so awful? Many games present a formidable setting and set of characters, basically the same elements most successful movies have. I can understand the difficulty in terms of following the same protagonist from the games, but does it really have to be so? You can always have a completely different protagonist that fits well into the series, and maybe mention the protagonist from games a few times or have a surprise entrance once...
Bleh.
How about they just halt episode 3 its getting pretty silly.Pararaptor said:Nah.
Take the money & put it into the development of Episode 3, I'm sure a lot more people would be happier.
Yeah, just a bit. The games you are correct about. Theyre good plot wise, in my opinion, but the characters arent really connection-worthy. The books are different though. They add whole new dimensions to the characters and theiir feelings and emotions and motives. Sergeant Johnsons backstory. The attack on Harvest. Captain Keyes fighting the flood. How John escaped Halo. Stuff like that. they really flesh out the characters.kman123 said:honestly, no. I guess my opinion is a tad biased yeah?Korten12 said:have you read the books?kman123 said:Peter Jackson should stay away from this trainwreck. Get Michael Bay on it. Epic battles? Ok...maybe Ridley Scott. I mean, it's not like the Halo series is renowned for brilliant dialogue, deep characters and emotional attachment to said characters. That's my opinion anyway. SO, if they should do it right, they might as well make it spectacular. I'd be...slightly happy.
