Poll: HALO WARS how does it play?

Only played the demo but it worked fine. I only miss the opportunity to be more specific about the troops I would want to select. If you could be able to only select marines or warthogs for example, when you mark the troops you want with the blue circle, I would have been happy.

You can hit A twice on a unit to select all units of that type in the area.

Demo was really good, first RTS I think I'm actually gonna get into since Starcraft, which i still play.

I still think C&C3 had the best console RTS controls I've ever used, but Halo Wars is a better game in terms of gameplay. The variety of units and upgrades, combined with limited resource gathering means that you have to be selective about your spending. I'll need to play some real multiplayer to form a full opinion, but I think that it is great. I'll buy it for sure.

I really liked it but the UNSC seem a bit overpowered against the Covenant. It feels like Spartans are more powerful than the Honour Guard Elites because of their shield, and from what I can tell from playing skirmish, supplies are gathered quicker by the UNSC than the Covenant as well. But then again the Covenant do have the energy shield for their base and the Scarab, which can pretty much murder any unit it comes across.

I've never been a massive RTS fan. I've played through Starcraft and the Brood War expansion, and I played enough of C&C for it to get boring. The controls work surprisingly well for a console RTS as well. Halo Wars is worth at least a rent if you're looking to get into RTS games.
