Poll: Has a game ever made you cry?

The only game that has ever come close to making me cry is Lost Odyssey, simply because it was so unbelievably terrible, I didn't even try to finish it.

I have, however, made my brother cry in a video game. Once I beat him eleven matches to zero in Marvel vs. Capcom(or one of the arcade fighters like it, I forget which one) by using the same special combos over and over and over and over again. He almost beat me a few times; close, but no cigar.

Heart of darkness made me cry with its difficulty, Kingdom hearts made me cry just because I was so happy. I also cried when I realized that their would not be a monkey island 5.

I cried when I played the first 30 mins of Assassins Creed coz I saw my expectations get shattered lol, but I think I had a tear in my eye when Jenny died in The Darkness.

The ending of MGS3, when Eva reveals the truth about The Boss.

That one got me chocked up too. It starts with the end of The Boss and then the Eva part at the end just brings out those few tears.

God what a great ending (MGS3 is the best in the series!)

Agreed, also I shed a tear when BB salutes the grave specifically. And in 4 when Snake was gonna off himself but that's the only time I actually cried.

I was pretty sad when you see BB (yeah I know I'm not doing that spoiler thing)in the back of that truck.

I was also pretty sad when Cloud turned into a vegetable in FFVII. And in Kingdom Hearts and FFX-2 when I saw what they had done to those characters I so loved.

I didn't get sad at the very end of MGS4 because, to me, seeing BB just spoiled the entire story. I was sad when everyone was getting on with their lives and snake was going to off himself. When they pulled that stunt at the end of the credits really just took me out of the game too much to care at that point. I am happy that Snake finally got his happy ending.

I never actually cried but it was close. I was pretty sad when Raiden died too.

Yes, I remember beating Super Mario RPG and cried my eyes when I found out it didn't save.

I cried when I first played Crysis on my new rig. Went from an old office computer from 05 to a brand new gaming monster. When I first walked into the daylight and saw all the details, I lost it...

But I don't think any other game has made me cry, I mostly laugh all the time.

EDIT: Might be since I haven't played that many good games yet, I grew up in the generation of graphics > story as it seems right now.

MGS4. I literally fell to the floor in shock when Snake "bit the barrel" but then the secret ending came and saved the day.

Also, CoD4 when everyone was dieing, especially Gaz. I like Gaz the most, and when he got capped in the head my eyes started watering.

I've never flat out cried at a game (although mercenaries 2 nearly reduced me to tears, but that's a different story). I'm a pretty stoic person anyway. I have welled up at some games, but damned if i can remember which ones...

Mass Effect (the choice at Virmire, and also when Joker's flying the Normandy in one of the big inspiring cutscenes towards the very end - don't want to spoil it, but those who have played the game will know what I mean). Also Planescape Torment (so many places!).
