That said, I'll probably get Torchlight 2 when my roommate does, simply for added LAN play potential.
One thing Diablo 3's server requirement has impressed upon me, though: unless there's eventually an option to play the game single player and LAN (I dislike online multiplayer with most games) without the goddamn real money auction house and official servers, I will never play it. When I buy a game that isn't an MMORPG (and D3 isn't), I require assurance that, if the disc still works, I can still play the game. In this case, it relies on Blizzard's servers still supporting it to play at all, so no dice.
