If you haven't yet heard, Microsoft has decided on doing a full 180 on their whole policy on used games and DRM, meaning that there will no longer be a need to sign in every 24 hours, and you can share and sell your games as you wish. Here are the full details if you're interested: http://news.xbox.com/2013/06/update So, has this changed you're decision on whether or not you're getting the Xbox One?

Probably. I'm giving them more time before I make the final decision. There is still 5 months for them to try to earn back my "trust"

It's made me partially change my position.

They need to get rid of the Kinect for me to fully change my mind, and even then I'd be buying a PS4 and Wii U first.

It goes to show that they have no fucking clue what they're doing. If anything it decreased my confidence in their system, as little as it was anyway.

Maybe. It'll still depend on there being enough games for it I can't get on PC, but given the choice between PS4 and Xbone, right now Xbone has the nicer controller (probably, haven't actually used them yet) and PS4 has the nicer price.

Nope. Had no intention of getting a console, much less the One80. Even if I decided to get a console, I'd be far more likely to get a WiiU or PS4.

No, because I was only ever going to get a One. I only ever really cared about the games. I'm still glad that Microsoft did what they did though, now my chances of getting beaten on the streets for buy the console have reduced dramatically.

It went from "Can't go anywhere near my house" to potential secondary system.

Each generation, I usually will end up with all the major systems with one being the primary system (bought 1-2 years into the generation) and the secondary system (bought 5+ years into the generation).

I still don't like the Kinect being always connected and paying for just online access (that "Just" is important) are still major hurdles for me. If Microsoft gets rid of those two issues before launch, they could enter the ring as a true contender for my dollar instead of just a pretender.

This news really has not affected my decision one bit. I'm not planning to participate in this Console Generation at all. I'll stick to PC gaming, thank you very much.

As much as I didn't like the Xbox One and it's DRM crap I'm kind of disgusted that MS would backpedal like that after touting all the amazing features this would bring to the future of gaming. Shows a distinct lack of vision, leadership and overall plan for their system. What about the cloud computing and game sharing features they so loudly advertised? The sharing feature is now gone as well as a bunch of the preorders that they did have because of it. Now they are just trying to win back sales lol. Kind of sad really. Still a PS4 for me folks! $100 bucks is a huge difference!

COPY/PASTE from another response I gave. :D

It's more like react to all the sales they were going to lose. Still not getting one. This wasn't done with us in mind, it was done so they wouldn't lose money. Otherwise this is how it would have been in the first place. What's to stop an update that adds all that crap later. If it was so easy to remove, it will be easy to put back.

They showed their true colors and I won't forget, and even if you do buy it after this change. Don't forget that either, they had no problem making it something that would screw people over.

I was a 360 owner, loved the machine, but this one. Eugh, I just don't trust them now.

I owned a 360.

I am building a PC this gen, and may get a PS4 down the line some time. Just to give microsoft the bird. I might buy the One second hand now.

Nope, the PS4 still has better processing, and didn't make piss poor decisions to begin with. I'm sorry, but the best indicator of future behavior is past behavior, and Microsoft has shown that they're willing to gamble with how bad they can screw over their customers. Fuck that shit.

I prefer Sony's exclusives from their studios such as Naughty Dog and Sucker Punch, so was going to get a PS4 no matter what. This has not changed my opinion. I do think the industry needs competition so this is good news, but it doesn't change the fact they tried to screw us over in the first place, then caved in to consumer pressure and gave up on their vision for the console. Makes me wonder how the T&Cs could change in the future too.

No, mandatory Kinect was a deal breaker for me anyway. My thougths further solidified when I saw the price.

I feel like this is a bad time to get all cuddly and cozy with Microsoft. They still tried to shaft us in the beginning.

Turning around and deciding to buy an Xbox One(eighty) now is like deciding to marry someone just because you were able to talk them out of raping you in an alley a half an hour ago.
Looks like our old friend Mr. Stockholm Syndrome is back again...

Wikipedia-Stockholm syndrome said:
Stockholm syndrome, or capture-bonding, is a psychological phenomenon in which hostages express empathy and sympathy and have positive feelings toward their captors or abusers, sometimes to the point of defending them, and sometimes the feeling of love for the captor shows. These feelings are generally considered irrational in light of the danger or risk endured by the victims, who essentially mistake a lack of abuse from their captors for an act of kindness.
Ergo: Microsoft reversed their policies, but this does not mean that they are the good guys. All it means is that they have been screwing us over so long it seems like they are doing something nice by NOT screwing us. (Chew on that for a second)

No way in Hell. They were so proud of these "features" to begin with. Remember they just had to educate the consumers, because this was the future, and we all want to be a part of the future. Right?

Well, I know my future. It's not Xbox 180.

Besides, nothing stops them from reinstating these features. You are still required to connect online. And they only did this for our money. Not because it's the right thing to do. If they really wanna show that they are serious, they should issue an apology. Not some lame PR speak saying they finally listened to us.
