Yeah I think, I had some long drawn out argument with some guy which was ok as we were discussing a subject but then he attacked me instead of my point which I guess got enough people to report him. Which is a good lesson, its fine to attack someone's idea, point or response but don't attack something outside that such as the person themselves or their beliefs.
You've got 5 or 6 people banned purely because your views are outrageous? You're like a tumor on the face of the escapist; your continued presence here makes me physically sick. I don't think I've got anyone banned, or even suspended, as the result of replying to something I've said. But if I'm in a thread where that level of intra-community aggravation exists, I tend to present reasonably well-constructed, at least partially flame-proof replies, usually pointing out the importance of free speech and that the view I've presented is my own opinion. Or so I like to think

I don't think I ever got anyone banned. No, I know I haven't got anyone banned. Or suspended... I'm generally a pleasant person to deal with. Probably due to my sophisticated nature.

you shouldn't let it get to you, I don't think provocation is a defense to posting something ban worthy, especially considering that the nature of posting on the internet allows for more time to think before speaking.

I've had kind of the opposite happen. I said something, and then someone posted this really long butthurt response filled with random personal attacks to which I responded with "umad?" and got put on probation. Was worth it.

Agreed, I wonder if the mods read the whole argument before launching the hammer. I would have flown so off the handle to a comment like that. I'm surprised that Thunder was courteous enough actually poke all the glaring flaws in OP's argument instead of a constant stream of insults like I would have done.JimmyBassatti said:
