Have you?

Personally, yes I have. I never really tried to kill the person though, but I just wished that the person would die in some way. I never attempt to do extreme things like this to be honest, as I would get in trouble for doing it, a trouble which isnt worth the death of the person in question, despite how much I might hate him/her.
You're confusing hate with rage. Trust me on this one, real hate exceeds the bounds of simply killing someone so hard it's not even in the same state. I've hated one person in my life, just one, and never once did I imagine killing her, rather I wanted to destroy her, break her, then leave her alive to suffer with the knowledge of her complete failure as a person for as long as possible. When I heard she got cold feet for her marriage and ditched her fiancee of two and a half years I laughed because the idea of the misery she must be in, because she's not actually a bad person, made me genuinely pleased.

That's hate. So as to your question, no, my hate has never been that weak before.
So why do you hate her?
Eh, very long and complicated story. To put it in a simple context: at the time I had no friends, close family, lover, or real goal to stave off the crippling depression I was suffering from. She took away the one thing left that I had to keep me going in life and I took it personally. I replaced what was stolen with hatred and kept going, taking small steps to make her life more miserable or humiliate her from the distance when I could.

She didn't mean to hurt me and I know that she didn't realize what she'd done, I knew all that and it changed absolutely nothing. I wasn't doing what I was doing for some stupid sense of vengeance or justice or karma or anything like that, I was doing it because I hated her and that was all the reason I needed.

One thing most people who haven't experienced real hatred don't understand is that it is shockingly similar to being in love. You think about that person every day even if it's just a little bit, whenever they're around you find yourself endlessly distracted by their presence, and everything about them just makes you want to stitch their stupid mouth shut and hang them upside down in a flaming abattoir til they go insane from the fumes. Hatred is selfless and has no need for any kind of reason to keep going. If you ask someone how they know that they're in love they'll just say, 'because I am', or 'because I do'. Hate works the same way.

One person, yes. we more or less have a mutual hatred of each other, but so far he's been the only one to actually do anyhtin about it (push me in front of a car), but thats about it. he moved and runs with a different crowd now so I dont see him anymore really. but if he dropped dead i wouldnt care.

Holy shit, are you fucking kidding me?

No. No, I have never wanted to FUCKING KILL someone.

Also, I think it's a little worrying that your "Strong No" option in the poll lists "I would get in trouble" as the reason for saying "no". Not, you know, because it's FUCKING WRONG.

I reiterate: HOLY. SHIT. The only thing more disturbing then the fact that this thread exists is the Escapist's total under-reaction to it.

Beat the shit out of repeatedly? Totally. Almost on a daily basis, really. Kill, not so much. Violence isn't the answer, it's only part of the solution. The other part of the solution is the person learning not to be a complete tit. Plus, I don't really want to deal with the US prison system.

I haven't although there are several people whom I wish would die in horrible accidents like buses falling on them.

Having said that, if anyone ever seriously hurts or kills anyone in my family without a damned good reason, I would have no issues killing said person. You don't fuck with family.

Kill? No. Beat to within an inch of their life? Yes.
Ah yes. That's me.

The beating is good. The suffering is better. Don't end it so quickly, yes?
Precisely.

I'm not usually a violent person, but there are some people, and one person in particular, that I'd like to show a whole new world of pain. >:,

Naa. I can forgive a lot. For the most part people don't know they did anything wrong. I can't hate anyone for being ignorant and having biases. I can be ignorant and have biases as well.

While I probably wouldn't go as far as to kill them myself, if I were to encounter this person again I would probably beat the everloving shit out of them. If I were to find out they were in fact dead for whatever reason even though they were one of my closest friends at one time I really wouldn't feel that bad about it and the more tragic the cause of death the more they would have deserved it.

I don't think I've ever consciously and seriously contemplated murder.

I have absolutely abhorred people to the point where I would be cheering at their death and if they had pushed me any further, I may well have crossed that line though.

I've been very angry at people before, but I don't think I've ever considered taking it that far. I've imagined such scenarios before, but it's more of a stress reliever then me coming up with a plot. I like to think that I have enough self control not to, but I haven't met someone that I despise to the level of hatred. Hatred is a very strong word. Maybe if I ever did feel hatred towards an individual I would be a bit more tempted, but violence only leads to more violence.

If you dislike someone enough to consider murdering them, it would probably be better to use the time you would have otherwise spent in jail to try and move away from the individual you deplore. Maybe to another town, another state, maybe even another country if you want a real change in scenery. It's just that in the end, violence will only pave the way for more bad things to happen to you. God I feel like I'm lecturing. Forgive me!

That's what you're going to do? Beat them so badly their lower face turns into the shape of a comma? Ooo, that's brutal.

That was supposed to be an emoticon, but sure why not?

I have the opposite problem, there are only a few people I don't want to kill. Unfortunately murder is illegal for some strange reason. :(

I had the same reaction at first, but then I remembered that tons of nerds enjoy acting like they're above morality and like they aren't affected by anything. So then I felt better.

I doubt I ever would but there was one guy. Made false accusations that I was planning to shoot some people at school. I went to juvie for a weekend. I was found innocent. Yet I still wasn't allowed within 100 feet of the school for the rest of the year. I had to finish the year by taking assignments in the building where they gave the GED classes with the burnouts. (I know that not all GED students are burnouts but that's the only word to describe the ones I had to deal with)

He ruined a year of my life. If I could have gotten away with it I might have actually done it at one point but I cooled off, he dropped out and I never saw him again.

Last I heard he was dying of some variety of cancer. Normally I wouldn't wish this on anyone but he's the exception. If it's true I hope it's slow and painful.

From what I know of him not a single person will miss him.

I was bullied a lot in Jr High, but never did I get the "hate" or "kill" mentality. Only because those who bullied me I knew would never become as awesome as I would be in high school.
I was right.

Although water boarding them sounds like a nice alternative.
