Poll: Have you ever named your console or PC?

My iPod is named Pbbbbbbbth because it was utterly failing at working for a while. I haven't named my new laptop yet.

Never occurred to me to name my PS_s or my DS before, though.

I personally call my PC Lucy (I named it that when i first installed Windows XP)
I got the name from the film Hackers

EDIT:
In games whenever I get a minigun of any kind i nickname it Sasha and say it in an eastern european accent
As a bit of a joke with my friend and a nod to TF2

I named my old xbox "ein".
But only because it unlocked an additonal character in dead or alive.


(you could name your console,and games could check that name:even the multiplayer lobby of the launch titel halo showed your console's name,and i refered to the name ein for my xbox in real life)

And i named my iPod nPod...just because it could be confusing if i ever have multiple ipod's connected to my computer...

I only call my desktop generic animal names like "the beast" or "the creature". Nothing permanent though.

I'm rather ashamed to say yes...
When I first got my Wii I saw "console name" in the options.
And my Wii was Benny forever more. I always refer to it as "The Wii" though. I wouldn't go around saying "Benny crashes alot recently" in case an eavesdropper thought I was talking about some drink-driving friend I have.

Truly, I don't know. I just named mine because everyone else was. (If your friends jump off a cliff...) Maybe because it costs a good amount of money and we spend so many hours with it.

Xbox 360 - "Bits" (I took it apart to fix it myself but got stuck at the t10 screwdriver. It was already a year out of warranty)

PS3 - "darth vader" (I have a red light mod around the disc tray kinda like the wii)

Wii - "little kid" (It's really for 2 year olds now it;s beyond a joke)

Laptop - "OMGWTFBBQ" (it runs cod4 on maximum with an intel integrated gpu (X3100))

I suppose it makes sense. But to me a computer is just another inanimate object - I haven't named my bed either for the same reasons and yet I use it a lot (though I'd like to spend more time in it). By the way, may I ask what you've named yours?

Mine is "the Tank". Heavy, noisy, and powerful. My brother calls it the jet engine, cause the fans are loud.

My ex-girlfriend named my PC 'Sexputer', because it was big, black and shiny. Although why she associated big, black and shiny with sex, I don't know. And I don't want to.

My Xbox 360 is called "Tooth", I named it after my very first original Xbox, back when Xbox's actually came with names (You could see them in Halo CE multiplayer), and my Laptop is called "Sammy L. Jackson", I'd say why but Doug Damage already beat me to it.

I already posted it but my PS3 is named Gawd. I type it a lot on forums so I don't offend by saying God. Also due to the fact that since it's a 160 gig (best model to date) he would be considered a god of sorts.

Sorry, I must have missed the post(s). Anyway, I suppose Gawd is fairly suitable. Though I still don't think I'll name my P.C. - its just not something I'd do.
