Every once in a while, particularly while playing MW2, I'll refuse to quit a game until I've avenged myself on the camper/twelve year old/obscenely skilled player that just killed me. Sometimes it works, sometimes I wish that I'd just ragequit when I had the chance. So yes, I play games when I'm pissed at them.

EDIT: Cod:W@W was particularly good at eliciting this reaction--those damn grenades, particularly on Veteran!

The only game I've gotten really frustrated with was N+. There was no way I was going to get the stupid red land mines or what ever they were get the best of me!

I've hardly ever been angry at a game for difficulty (with the exeption of the laser-trap tunnel in Dmc 4, which with keyboard controls was a royal pain in the backside) -

However I do happen to play shooters a lot, when I'm angry or frustrated about something in my life - which hardly ever helps, due to me utterly sucking in such games when I'm angry, thus lacking concentration.

I broke my Game Boy Colour after missing a Zaptos on Pokemon Pinball with a TV remote. I didn't -intend- on breaking it, I just wanted to teach the fucker a lesson.

Oops.

This. Especially in World at War. I used to get so annoyed at the homing-grenade-happy enemies that I would literally throw my controller, which I haven't done since I was like 12.
Also occasionally in the Total War series when a province I'd just taken would revolt with like 1000 troops against my like 200 troop garrison. I'd often direct that battle myself just out of spite to kill as many of them as I possibly could before I lost.

The only reason I ever jump onto Halo 3 multiplayer is when I am royally pissed; I mean, if I'm so pissed off that I'm willing to tolerate being called such foul things in Halo, blowing a few digital brains out of their digital skulls should help.

"You will not beat me again zombie Seymour!"

Later:

"DAMMIT! You will NOT beat me again zombie Seymour!"

Later:

"FUCK! I AM GOING TO KICK YOUR ASS THIS TIME!"

Later:

"GODDAMMIT! You are SO gonna die!"

Agreed. I remember I was doing Mile High Club on Veteran, and I got to the hostage on my 10th or so try, then shot him by accident. It took me around 100 more tries to even get that far, but I was not going to let that game beat me. I don't usually care too much about gamerscore, but I now wear that 1000 points as a badge of pride.

Another example to come to mind is Resident Evil 5 on Professional Mode. For those not in the know, if you get hit and are not joined at the hip with you partner, you die. It's the cheapest fucking thing I've ever seen, but NoMoreSanity and I just used that rage as fuel to beat it. That, and infinite ammo rocket launchers, god that's broken.

World of warcraft...

Don't even get me started on the frustration i have gone through in that came but continued to play it.

Same with tf2 because alt f4 does not work, no rage quitting D:

Prototype, i was really really really looking foward to playing it. after only a couple of hours of playing i got sick of it and started hating it. Everything about it sucked, gameplay, story, vehicle, missions, ETC!!! Well during one of the racing missions or something i had to beat a free falling record on some target or something i don't really remember. Upon landing i started seeing millions of green pixely squares on my screen (can't describe it) I turned off my 360 and immediatly turned it back on... I had gotten the red ring of death and have yet to repair it (over 8 months have passed) For a while i didnt give a damn since prototype was that bad but now that mass effect 2 has come out i want to fix it xD

Yea...I was REALLY looking forward to playing this but it remains one of my biggest gaming disappointments. inFamous is embarrassingly better and I really wasn't expecting that.

I can sympathize with you on this. The thing(he is not male after all that!) would not die.
OT:On Ratchet and Clank Future A Crack In Time I continuously played the My Blaster Runs Hot until I got the trophy. Going insane after every time I died and yelling in my head,"I will not be beaten by a game that looks like E.T!"

I've never played a game because I'm angry at it, but I have played games multiple times because I'm angry in general, and killing things is good stress relief.

I pop Empire Total War into my drive, bash my sense out of my brain to forget all the terrible bugs and glitches and crashes, and then cry myself to sleep when I realized that all my bashing hasn't worked.

I just did that with Dragon Age on the last boss! My anger won through eventually.
