Daxter of Jak and Daxter because he is hilarious.
Elena from Uncharted. I always wanted her around because she could absorb bullets.
The minions in Overlord 2 I liked when they wore silly things.
And Charon from Fallout 3 because when he murders no one cares.

the bird (Whose name escapes me right now..) from Banzo Kazooie
You'd better be joking.
Of course I am, I may not remember much of my childhood but I'll be danmed if I forget who Kazooie is. Though I think we can classify this as another poorly executed joke attempt by myself...

eastern european guy from Farcry 2.
Far Cry 2 had a good use of sidekicks. Brings back memories about Yosip, or that unplayable female mercenary(I think she was Nasreen) saving my back numerous times.

RE4

That girl in the Knight's outfit is awesome at stunning enemies and giving me a good Infinite Rocket Launcher target.

Well, there's always the portal friendbox. <3<3
I don't get it. Companion Cube was one of the less interesting things in Portal. It doesn't only apply to you Wargwolf. Everywhere on various forum boards, when people start to talk about Portal it's either "CC neva foget" or "Cake is a Lie lol"(sorry for the generalisation, but that's how it looks like). What I mean, is that Companion Cube(emotionless, expressionless object) existed for like 20 minutes, Cake probably never existed(except for that final cutscene), yet people remember Portal only because of them, not because of GLADOS, who accompanied us throughout entire journey and she was the thing that made Portal have any story, and she was the one that made us question both the Cake, and the CC. If it weren't for that Internet hype(i'm not sure if it's the right word) around CC and Cake, I would hardly even remember them.

Anyway sorry for the off-topic. Had to vent off some Steam.
Proceed.

Personal favourites are either of your sidekicks from beyond good and evil, but there are many more...

Carth Onasi (KotOR)
Bastila (KotOR)
Kreya (KotOR2)
Neeshka (NWN2)
Ammon Jerro (NWN2)

These guys were mostly just party members, but they were the few that I actually became somewhat attatched to.

No, most of them just got in the way, got shot, killed me, or just acted like a retard with no legs trying to reach the top shelf of a large cupboard using only his arms and his sheer stupidity !*

*Which means they were bad.

Do RPG's actually count in this? Most RPG's I try and keep the party members alive. Then again some of them just aren't worth saving after a while - you know, the stupid one at the back who can't take being batted by a butterfly wing without falling over dead? I let them die.

Other than that, most other genres - no.

Although I didn't mind Midna all that much from Zelda.

Joey from Beneath a Steel Sky (like Bender years before Futurama), Tails from the Mega Drive era, and Floyd from Planetfall.

Pey'j and Double H from Beyond Good and Evil.

They didn't do much, but they helped emotially, and I really felt for them, espescially when Pey'j apparantly COUGH-ERHUM and at the end with the boss they both went all COUGH-SPOILERS

Dogmeat just grates with me. He damn well attacks everything you walk by, I reloaded twice because he insisted on taking on Raiders with goddamn flamers and rocket launchers.

Third time round? I put a bullet in his skull just to release the tension. I then re-re-re-reloaded and sent him to 101. He's been there ever since.

He just goes and kills himself on anything harder than normal. No time for him

Dom (and the rest of Delta but mostly Dom) from Gears
Fawkes from Fallout 3
Joker from Mass Effect (I mean cmon, it's Seth Green!) I liked Ashley and Wrex too.
Jung and Micheal from Rainbow Six Vegas

Not the dog in Fable II though. It felt like more of an annoying but useful tool.

Farah in Prince of Persia, the Sands of Time.
I was heartbroken when she... you know...
Wait, wasn't that the donkey you never see? lol if that's the joke.
I think the donkey was named after a character from Sands of Time who was also called Farah
So long since I played the original I had forgotten. Good call.

Crow from both The Longest Journey and Dreamfall. What's not to love about a wise-cracking talking crow named Crow?
