Nah. My childhood was filled with characters that didn't transform (Ninja Turtles, Ghostbusters, GI Joe), and I was way too old by the time I first watched DBZ to yell like a maniac for 5 hours since the estimated time it takes Sayians to transform is about 10 episodes.

What makes this odd is that I was not a huge DBZ fan. In fact I was never a fan. Nevertheless I was young, stupid, and thought it looked like fun.

Oh yea, way back when I was still 10 year sold or so and DBZ was the big thing, me and my friends would always be playing dragonball mock fights... and I'd be lying if i said that a little piece of me didn't want the transformation to actually work. [Oh come on, being able to fly around at light speed and blow shit up by poking it with my pinky finger, what 10 year old wouldn't want that]
I tried a long time ago. However I soon came to the realization that DBZ is the only place where you can get more powerful by flexing your muscles and screaming.

no for 2 reasons
1 even i have enough grip on myself to differentiate reality from a cartoon
2 i dislike dbz i recognize it as an anime and one that helped the genre along, but doesn't mean i have to like it, or gundam for that matter.

No, seeing as how I am a mostly sane inividual I did not attempt to become a space born super warrior from a cartoon with magical(?) powers, anymore then I attempted to become a Power Ranger.
