Yes I was 15 and it was with a boy I had just met. You may think that makes me a slag but I fell madly in love with him at first sight and I don't regret it at all. We were safe so nothing else mattered to me.
Very sad to think he is no longer of this world, I miss him x
Wow, that´s really bad i really hope that something like that never happens to me, I really admire that you can talk about it.
You have nothing to fell bad about, you did the right thing in going for what your heart desired.
Thank you x

Lost it at 16, since a girlfriend took it from me. It was great, and I was hooked on this great, great passtime. And then, somewhere around 20, I slowed down, and stopped being so interested. The last couple of times I had sex, it seemed like a tired chore, and I didn't really get anything out of it.

I haven't had sex in about a year now, and strangely enough, it's not really a problem for me. Sure, it'd be great to get it on with someone, but I don't really feel motivated to actually pursue it. Is that normal?

Yeah, just after I turned 17, with my current girlfriend. So yeah, I've only had sex with one person, but it was great and I've had a lot of it, so I recon that makes up for it. ;P

So many who have lost their virginity at 14-16... Hardly any virgins leaving responses. Well, I'm 23 and I am still a virgin. I've also never had a girlfriend (or boyfriend), and I have never been kissed. None of which is by choice.

Ever since my late teens I have been told over and over "Don't worry, you will find someone some day" and "Oh, you're a sweet person really, and anyone who eventually will be with you will be lucky to have you".

I sometimes feel very lonely, and quite depressed by having missed out on all kinds of teenage romance. I feel that being involved with a person you like when you're an adult would have a very different feel than the explorative experience of being young and in love, and to be intimate with a teenage crush.

Of course, hopefully that wouldn't matter if I found someone who I truly adored, who would reciprocate those feelings. If I were to have sex I would absolutely prefer it to be with someone I care deeply for, and saving myself for marriage would be very nice... but I would lie if I said I didn't want to have sex.

I would love for people to post their opinions on my situation, even though many of you seem to be younger than me, I wonder what you think of me.

I think I've replied to one of these threads before but oh well, I'm 21, still a virgin. It isn't the virginity that bothers me, one night stands have never been an appeal so yeah, waiting for something serious to come along, not because of some "saving myself" thing mind, just because I have zero interest in no-strings-attached meaningless sex.

So, Escapist, have you lost your virginity? It´s okay, you don´t have to tell, you can vote anonymously in the poll if you´d like!

Me? Well, since i´m thirteen, no. But, to no ones suprise, i want to.

How about you?
I think that it speaks to escapist age demos that the highest percentage says "yes, 13-18" and the next two highest say that they are virgins. Then again, OP should have provided more precise options: 13-16, 17-21, mid-twenties, and older. I actually lost my virginity within months of turning 19 so I'm not exactly bragging. Though it was with a hometown girl, my experience in a college town has taught me that ANYONE in their late teens/early 20's can get laid there, and that anyone with anything even approaching decent personality/looks can get late with a gorgeous girl.

As for those who say they are quite content with that, if they're under 17 I can't give them too much grief, but if they're older than that I have to call bullshit. There are simply not that many asexual adults and I don't exactly see The Escapist as a haven for the true love waits crowd

I'm 16, haven't lost it, which is apparently a horribly bizarre thing at my school.

Nope, 16, and I don't want to any time soon.
Nope, sixteen and I'll take my damn sweet time.

When I find someone I really like, sure, but so far there's not really anyone I've wanted to take that step with.

This forum is slightly obsessed with virginity, lately.

I was 19, it was the summer, it was nice but far from an overwhelming experience. I followed it up with a long evening playing football with my friends. All in all, a pretty successful day.

19....sadly, I lost mine to an emotional time after splitting up with my X... the lad in question I've known for a few years. My current partner knows about it, and for him, I was his first ^^
If I could turn back time, i wouldnt have done it if I knew i'd be where I am now.. but thats life. At least I enjoyed it lol. No, it didnt hurt either.

Yes, when I was 13. I was awful, she was like a dead fish.
Here's to horrible first experiences! I thoroughly enjoyed my first time - right up until I came about 7 minutes into it. If you don't think moaning "oh my god, I'm sorry, I'm sorry," during what is supposed to be your I AM SPARTACUS moment sounds wierd...

Why don't they put that in the movies?

16 and no. I don't care too much... I'm too lazy to even get into a relationship in the first place.

15 with my first true girlfriend. It was the first time for both of us and it was a pretty awesome experience, especially at the end when she accused me of having done it before. I miss her, beyond the sex she was also a really fun girl and had a great personality. We actually lasted a year and 3 months to the exact day that we broke up.

28 and still pure. First real kiss wasn't until I was 22. Also been told the same as you: "will find someone who will be lucky to have you" and all that. I've had a few opportunities but through either my own choice or simply missing the moment means it's not happened. I actually broke up with a girl when it was almost a sure thing, just because I didn't see any kind of future with her and didn't want sex to play any part in my decision. I don't regret that choice.

If I felt strongly enough about someone then I wouldn't stop it from happening but I'm still in no real rush to lose it. If it happens it happens. I don't let it bother me. I'm not quite sure how I reached this stage of not really caring, but if I could pinpoint why I don't care I'm sure I'd have a bit more advice for you. :)

Nope, and I'm not really content with it. I'm not expecting it to be some magical experience, I know it's going to be extremely awkward when it happens, but I feel that at age 18, I should be having more sexual experiences with people. I don't want to lose it just for the sake of losing it, but I get this feeling that if I don't get out there and pursue it, I'm going to fall behind my peers and not be comfortable with it. B
