I was encouraged to draw, I went to school for drawing, I now have a job in which I draw,
but I have wondered if I'd make a good veterinarian.
Dragons don't get along well with their food uhm I mean animals.

I'm still too young to be getting paid for what I do best but I'm going to school for a teaching degree and its what Im good at so I guess I'm on the right track to my calling.

Well, I'm an amazingly good programmer and that's what I do professionally, so I guess I am getting paid for my calling.

Well I'm currently taking a course for my specific desire, but like all students I suffer from great procrastination, and I don't believe I deserve to be taking the course, and I probably won't get hired because very few do.

So I am unlikely to have employment.
Probably won't get employment.
Or will try to be self employed and fail.

And then maybe I'll work in a flower shop to meet women, or something...

It's becoming more and more apparent that, while I can train to ensure that I have a job in future, my calling is:

A: Not a job at which one can make any money.
B: Technically not a 'job'
C: More and more difficult to continue doing as I slowly cease to enjoy it or produce anything.

Fun.

Having discovered the writings of Robert Greene I've discovered my affinity and love for socially based psycho analysis. So, I'm going to find some programs that will fulfill that need.

I'm generally talented at a variety of stuff, but right now I'm sorting though a lot of issues with my life. I wouldn't say I've missed my calling in life just yet: I'm sharpening up in film, 3D Modeling, and drawing, and it seems that for someone who's self-taught in a lot of my work I seem to be getting by okay. Still want to do more though, but fixing my life up is my priority.

Closed doors, opened window.

The uni degree I've chosen was a total disaster and I was a derelict hobo for quite a while.

Then out of sheer desperation I ended up a security guard, got posted at an office building that was going through massive occupy strikes. Apparently the proprietary security guys that were actually employed by the company liked me and offered me a job and now I'm in one of the highest paid unarmed security departments in the region and am applying for the police.

I'm not saying I'm a bad programmer, one of my portfolio projects was on about the same level of complexity as the shit Zynga puts out, and I did it solo. It's really about how many skills you can comfortably rely on. Not all of them are equally productive or marketable, it's really a question whether one actually enjoys getting paid for putting that particular skillset to use and leaning off of other ones.

And yes, I LOVE wrestling meth addicts. Not sure what it says about my mind state, but I used to pay places to teach me how to fight, now I'm getting paid to do it.

I'm good at math, dancing, language, physiology, psychology and reading behavior. I'm currently working as a private math tutor (which is awesome) and pole dancing at an awesome studio in Stockholm. Entered my first competition a month ago, and won. Pretty soon I'm probably gonna study to become a nurse. With my fascination for people and medicine I think I'd enjoy it and be good at it. So no, I haven't missed any "calling" - then again, I think as long as you keep enjoying where you're at and doing the best you can with what you have, there's no missing anything.

I took a break from my studying psychology, I was planning to be a therapist. Then I inherited a farm, that's been interesting.

I like music and I like teaching.

Currently I am in my second last year of a Music/Ed degree and am enjoying it thoroughly.

I have not missed my calling.

Not yet. Currently enrolled in a program which will hopefully provide me with a job that I want to do.

Of course, there are only a few positions for that job in the entire of the city, but I'll just have to off a few people to open those positions up, right? ;D
I'm sure your coke dealer has some contacts you can utilize to that regard.

OT: Well, I figured out I wanted to be a writer when I was twelve. Thing is, my first name is Jack, and that's pretty much the best way to describe me. As in I'm a Jack of all trades. But then it turns out I'm reading and writing on some kind of gifted and talented level, and thanks to Eragon (not an amazing book, but it roped me into this) I developed a love of story telling and world creation.

So... I've been angling myself towards a writing career, in journalism, but then hopefully writing novels, for the past six years. I have an escapist review spotlight, a couple of personally written letters of unsolicited idea rejection from a couple of publishers (from around when I was 13 writing mostly derivative fantasy) and a very small folklore book publication to my name.

So, I guess that's a start.

That sounds like the setup to a bad comedy (possibly a rom-com if one incorporates a handsome farmhand).

I hope not. I'm only twenty and still in school. That's too early to miss your calling, right?

Right?

I know I said handsome, but he'll probably be played by Ben Stiller. Sub par comedy is all he's good for these days.

There's Something About Mary wasn't that bad, but still.

The only other option is to gather all the male Escapists from a rural background and have a beauty pageant.

I'm actually a pretty good writer, I like to write stories and also things like reviews, I do keep a blog, albeit one that nobody reads, but I'd like to get paid for it someday, ideally games journalism or writing fiction, though I don't have the capacity for a novel! ):

This is a good topic! I think about this area lots. I haven't missed my calling, because it hasn't called upon me yet :)
