Poll: Have you played a visual novel?

I really really want to play Clannad and Kanon, after watching the anime based off them. Just... wow. Freaking wow. If the visual novels are anywhere near as good as the anime, I may have two new favorite games.

I'm playing Kanon currently, believe it or not (look for a review in the next month).

That said...it's awesome. I recommend it. I've never seen the anime (deliberately, 'cause I wanted to play this), but so far, the Ayu and Shiori routes are incredibly emotional. Still have Makoto, Mai/Sayuri, and Nayuki to go...

Don't forget the Akiko OH WAIT THEY DON'T HAVE ONE FFFFFFFF

...I'm trying to imagine her as a love interest. It's not working. She confuses me way too much.

Does Hotel Dusk: Room 215 count as a visual novel? If so, then yes, and that's a dang good novel.

The Phoenix Wright games are quite good, too.

Well, you could call Snatcher and Policenauts visual novels with a number of shooting segments and puzzles. Even though you practically were trying out options one by one I still really enjoyed those games, probably because of the atmosphere, storylines and the many little details that have been thought off (like much of the completely optional extra information about the world in Snatcher and the very hard science-fiction of Policenauts).

Only the Phoenix Wright series. But damn, were those worthwhile. Great games.
