It feels like Final Fantasy 12 came out a year ago. Couldn't imagine them remaking that so soon.

I voted FFXII... because Deus Ex is my favorite game of all times. I keep seeing the word "ugly" thrown around, yet that's never even crossed my mind while playing it.
I've said it about System Shock 2, and I'll say it about Deus Ex, a HD remake just doesn't have any point to it. If the intention is to make the games more attractive for the newer generation of gamers... well, fuck'em.
That's right, if the "ugly" and "outdated" graphics are turning people away from these games, they're not worthy of experiencing them. The focus was never on the graphics, nor should it be.
Not to mention the fact that a HD remake done wrong is inevitably gonna screw up the aesthetics and atmosphere, lessening the experience of the original. It's just not worth it, and graphics whores shouldn't be catered to.

*Amazing story (Up until it went conspiracy land bananas.)
*Ass graphics and aesthetics even for the time.
*Ass gunplay and stealth.
*Exploring every level for every bit of ammo/money/experience/upgrades that i could find for days. Its been 11 years and I still have the first five levels burnt into my brain.

Final Fantasy 12 of course. Didn't they jusy bring out a Deus Ex game this year? So, what's the point of even putting that title on the list? Secondly, if Square-Enix decided to remake another Final Fantasy title that had more than two digits in it, I believe several (if not millions of) die-hard fans and nut-jobs would actually fly over to Japan and f**king burn down the building.
I'm curious, OP, why did you choose FFXII for the poll? That seems arbitrary since it was on the PS2, was almost fully voice acted, looked pretty good anyway, and doesn't have nearly as big a fanbase as the earlier games. Why not one of the Final Fantasy's from the PS1 era? or even FFVI? Though even if one of those was an option I still wouldn't be sure. In Final Fantasy the characters and world are more important so HD and voice acting could definitely improve that, but in Deus Ex the atmosphere and gameplay mechanics are more important, which an HD remake would absolutely improve.

Why FFXII? Not only is it the weakest of the FF series in my opinion, it also does not need a HD remake compare to the older FFs. Since we contrasting a FF to Deux Ex perhaps a better option would have been FFIX as it was released fairly close to Deux Ex.
Though regardless of which FF should be up there Deus Ex would still take it, the graphics have aged pretty badly. Comparing it to FFIX, which to me has aged quite well, Deux Ex would be more in need of a remake.

I never quite got why so many people hate FF 12. Is it because it's so different from the typical FF? I enjoyed it a lot (except for the level grinding).
However, I do have the seemingly unpopular opinion that FFVIII is the worst 3D Final Fantasy (followed closely by FFX). Never played FFXIII nor the MMOs, though.

Definitely not FFXII, not only was it awful, but it came out way to recently to bother. Deus Ex, is a good choice though.
What? I'm not sure I understand the choices here... Deus Ex would need a complete remastering (in which case I'd vote for it), and Final Fantasy XII is already arguably the best-looking game of that entire generation (despite completely sucking in many other areas). So you have one where an HD remake would require fully redoing the visuals (not just a resolution upgrade) and another that simply doesn't need it. So...
